I only joined for the anime, didn't really talk to anybody. It introduced me to new anime, but I had to pay for the trips to cons. It wasn't a bad experience.

SAO, KLK, and whatnot viewers should still be leagues over narutards or bleachfags or the DBZ preachers or something.

IIRC there was a time where you couldn't stop running into SAO and KLK paraphenalia on the internet as well as obnoxious fans. That's the downside to any anime that gets prolific unfortunately.
OT: I've never heard of an anime club in my school days. Honestly this was the first anime community I've ever seen and was a part of. Anime watchers were always scarce in my earlier years.

The one at the city college created two annual cons here. Last week they totaled 5000 people who got tickets early. That pretty good for a small regional base. I was a founding member.

I've never been in an anime club. I noticed there's a lot of fans of anime at my school, but with it being an art school full of people who are into illustration and video animation that's not a real huge surprise.
But I'm a pretty closet person when it comes to my interest in anime. If someone even brings it up to me I get uncomfortable speaking about it in public. I usually won't even bring up the fact that I also know what anime they're watching or have on their notebook or whatever. I'll just let it pass.

Because I like to think that Naruto is a long running series with a larger and even more immensely retarded fanbase?

Get ready for Hatsune-Miku, Naruto fighting games, people wearing attack on titan jackets, and a hot stinky room.

Rise, every fanbase has their own set of nutjobs. There is no 'worse' fanbase.

Larger fanbases will have more nutjobs, though.
I don't even hate on SAO nor met it's share of 'nutjobs'. Perhaps it's the reason I don't think it's so bad to be in a club with SAO viewers.
I guess I just don't like Naruto so much.

Awesome neither of my brothers responded in this. Well we were all in high school together so we decided fuck it, lets join this anime club and see whats up.
It was lead by some girls who wore Naruto headbands who we later found out were lesbians and had all the power of the club.
It wasn't a bad club, I guess I just didn't want to go anymore. =/
Aai stopped going too but Arinaz stayed for a few weeks.
Note: I only found out they was lesbians because I ran into them making out, shit was awkward because they kinda just kept going lel.
edit: I guess it wasn't all that awkward now that I think about it because I didn't mind them and they didn't mind me, I just shrugged and went around them.
My brothers might remember more than me so if your friends with them go ahead and ask them about it.

I don't hate even ALO much less SAO, because I read the LN which is pretty damn good in my opinion. It's just that anime will fuck up any arc it seems, probably even volume 7, unfortunately.

We were going to have a DDR tournament but the Japanese club got jealous of us and did it before us and so we ended up with a Halo 3 tournament... I wanted to do Halo 2 but there was a guy that took over and he said Halo 3 was more popular... but we still had DDR at that tournament but I was usually playing it and girls were impressed I'm the ho magnet...
