Type II Civ huh? If they're hostile, we're fucked. I would wonder if a civilization of that caliber would even want to do battle or want to interact with a .7 Civ like us.

There's really no reason for them to be hostile.

It would literally mean they are just being dicks if they were.

Cause if they have the ability to travel to us.

Then they have the ability to travel to other areas that have considerable more resources than our planet.

But if they are a Type II, then we are absolutely fucked if they mess with us.

What about a Type I? From what it sounds like from their description, they have a good chance of wiping us out too if it came to war.

Do you think a type I would try to take our resources? Or, do you think they'd help us further develop?

I don't think neither type would be a threat realistically. And I don't think a Type I would really want to deal with us. While they would be more technologically advanced than us. They probably would be unlikely to transport a significant number of ships or men to really wage war against us. It would just be too costly.

It would honestly require them to be pretty close to us for them to really be a threat to us.

Because honestly if a civilization has developed to the point where they can travel to us.

They can travel to planets with way more resources that are uninhabited anyways.

Especially since they would have much better mining abilities than ours anyways, so it's not like they would even want to use our infrastructure as well.

So, in that case, do you think they'd offer to help our civilization develop?

If they discover that we are violent fuckers who can't even tolerate each other most likely no.

There is no feasible way those fuckers could come here in a reasonable time frame.

Not only would we have to send a signal back to them that would require more power than we are currently able to harness, but it would still take 95 years to return to them.

Then, unless they figured out a way to travel in a way that jumps distances or faster than the speed of light, it would take them at the least the same amount of time to travel here.
