Year 1 "After Reckoning" Day 1

The Christians called it. Apparently Judgment Day has come, but not in the way they saw it would come. Not in the way anyone saw it would come. It's hard to know exactly where it began, trying to sort through the aftermath of several countries vanishing off the face of the planet, tsunamis, earthquakes, hurricanes, and volcanic eruptions occurring everywhere on the planet, and the outbreak of a vicious new disease that turns corpses and people into beasts that hunt anything that moves, including each other.

But by putting together information pulled from various sources around the world as well as decrypting classified information, me and my friends were able to see what looks like the cause of all this. And like I said before, the Christians called it, and I say that because a huge fungal-like growth shaped like Jesus Christ himself showed up right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. And when I say huge, I mean colossal. We got the picture of it's "face" from a satellite in outer space. So what happened is, and this is only speculation mind you, this freaking colossal-ass thing shoved itself up from the bottom of the ocean, completely fucked up the Earth's climate causing all these natural disasters, released spores that are infecting everyone and turning them into freaks of nature, and is the source of the strange mist that continues to slowly but surely expand itself over various countries, cutting them off from global communications. So what the fuck is it? Is it alive or dead? Where the fuck did it come from? How do we get rid of it? I don't know, and it's not important right now. Well, it's a good thing me and my friends already made plans for this, so we'll be fine for a few months by ourselves.
