I don't really trust going through customs with this kind of stuff, so I am far too "wuss" to actually buy them. It's a shame, as I would like to own physical copies of some of them.

I believe there are some american companies that have licensed some doujin books. For example, Icarus Publishing. No problems about getting through customs there (if you live in the US).

Dude, doujins based on games and anime are considered illegal. You are using someone else's characters to make a profit. So you obviously can't license that.
But original doujins are totally legal though, and those can be licensed.

Or at least it's a gray area because basically, doujinshi are considered some kind of free promotion, resulting in more sales.
Not sure if the US are as liberal in that regards.

^Yeah well at least the real creators of the anime/games don't seem to care, cause I haven't heard about anyone being sued or anything for creating a doujin. Japan is that way I guess.
Being Swedish and living in Sweden, conventions are the any way to possibly get hold of anything like that at all..Except from that it's probably not possible, unless you buy from someone private maybe. Or order online. But I haven't done any of those so yeah, I don't own that many doujins. But I do have a bigger collection on my computer, though of course I wouldn't hesitate to buy a real copy of them.
And well as long as I can't go to Japan it'll be very hard for me to get hold of that many doujins.
