My family seems to be loyal to the Eagles(they are all from philly), but I have begun to break away from that and root for the Redskins(since I grew up in D.C.), so while I always hope for both of them to do well, it's a bit of a contradiction.

I hate the pats. I expecialy hate tom brady, he's biggest piece of shit, overated qb OF ALL TIME. Everyone's always talking about how he won 3 super bowls, but he had an AMAZING defense. he got lucky alot to. his opponents played badly or adam viniterri saved his ass in almost every playoff game he's been in. He's never had alot of offensive weapons but not alot of great qb's do. (i.e. brett favre).
They might with the super bowl again this year if the nfc doesn't pick it up.

I don't really know a whole lot about the team, I just like them because my family comes from New England.
I was under the impression the patriots chances looked slim this year, didn't they suck royally in the pre-season stuff?

pre-season doesn't matter at all. it's just to see which scrubs to keep and which ones to cut. only in a few situations are they actualy deciding which player is going to start.
the pats didn't play hardly any of their starters all pre-season so noone would get hurt, which was wise of them. pre-season isn't worth loosing a key starter. the nfl is probly going to shorten or even remove the pre-season by 2010.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I knew pre-season didn't effect any standings and tended to be a time to experiment with different players, but I guess I didn't realize just how poor of a indicator it was of a teams line up for the year.

The main reason they keep pre-season is because it still makes money. Most stadiums still sell out. This is mainly because season ticket holders are forced to buy preseason tickets. Noise bleed seats usually are alot cheaper in pre-season compared to regular season, but nice seats have little to no price cut off regular season.
Kinda alot of unneeded information i know, but i hear it alot because my friends did bitches about it alot.

Glad to see we have such an avid sports fan on the forums. I don't really follow footbal too much, but I am a Patriots fan if anything.

Not a huge fan of football (really prefer baseball and basketball) but do watch it and I hope pats win or get close this year, it is true that they didn't have any good starters for pre-season to prevent injuries wanted to see Randy Moss in action.

By the way im from argentina so it's hard to follow NFL around here.
Anyway I don't want to make a new thread I'll ask here, anyone seeing rugby world cup?
Argentina won agains the host (France) 17-12. The funny thing is that argentina is the only amateur team between the 5 best of the word.
1. All blacks (new zeland)
2. Australia
3. France (In your face)
4. South Africa
5. Argentina
6. Ireland
Ok now back to the post subject
