There is an issue with gays and lesbians not being able to marry, and honestly, I see no problem with them getting married.

Society's so bent on having a set of "norms" that ANY deviations from it are seen as near-catastrophic. So what is "natural" to you? If it's something that nature intended, then that definition in of itself isn't absolute. Do we really understand all that is natural? Nature has shown us, time and again, that things that we would perceive as unnatural turn out to be the opposite.

Not allowing gays and lesbians to marry is no different from not allowing women to vote, or not allowing blacks to sit at the front of the bus when a white person comes aboard. Different situations, but the core problems are still the same; people being treated differently because of who they were.

P.S. A gay or lesbian couple getting married doesn't mean the world's going to end.

True enough, but the point I was trying to make is that the laws man has passed are made to be more sensable, (for lack of a better term), than the laws of the bible.

The moment I heard that states wanted to ban gay marriage, I smelled church involvement from day one. Personally, as cold as it's going to sound, if the church doesn't want gays getting married, then they should give up their tax exemption status. Churches across the country pretty much push for these bans every Sunday, (I would know, since I had to go to a service a few weeks back).

As someone said earlier, you get your marriage license FROM THE STATE. Think about it. No need for the ceremony when all that's needed is a piece of paper that says you and your spouse are married.
