Even though this game was made with RPG Maker, that doesn't automatically mean that it will contain RPG game elements like leveling up or weapon upgrades. Plenty of non-RPG games have been made with this engine, like Ib and Mad Father.

Though now that I think about it, a yandere RPG does sound like a pretty cool idea. o_o

Surprisingly, you are correct that it does not have the typical gameplay for an RPG. Yanderella is more of like a mini visual novel.

I played through Yanderella today. I'll put my thoughts in a spoiler tag in case others haven't had a chance to play it yet:

The two main heroines reminded me very much of Shion and Rena from Higurashi. It's probably not a coincidence, considering Higurashi also had a "give a toy to a girl" scene, and that was the only real choice to be made here in Yanderella. This led me to pick Honoka, the Shion expy, because I knew how that shit would go down otherwise. Didn't stop me from getting a "true" ending however.

I would have expected there to have been more to the game, since Honoka's house and the hotel were modeled, but as far as I could tell you couldn't get inside either. However, the short length of the game was fine. It was a nice little diversion.

Also, Hinita started out as the obvious girl to turn yandere of the two, yet I still chose the more tsundere Honoka. I feel like I'm losing my way to the dark side or something...

So apparently, there's a pretty intense yandere character in the new Legend of Zelda game, Hyrule Warriors. Her name is Cia, and her obsession with Link is what kicks off the game's plot. Unfortunately, pictures showing off her obessiveness is kind of scarce right now, so I'll just post what I gathered here. Hopefully more will be made as time goes on.
