[Who should read this]
- Collectors of manga / doujins / artbooks.
[Intro]
I've been tagging my cbz collection w/ ComicRack for about 3 months.
Right now my collection holds 9500+ cbz's
[cbz?]
cbz is a common zip only renamed into cbz. ComicRack is a software that adds comicinfo.xml -file to the zip -> Allowing the creation of tags.
With these tags it's then possible to search / sort ones collection.
(Can you imagine your medialibrary without tags?)
[Tags] (not listing all, only the ones i use)
Series [1]: Dead or Alive / Final Fantasy / ... (int name preferred)
Title [1]: Headwind / ... (jpn name preferred)
Alt.Series [0-1]: Dead or Alive Extreme / Final Fantasy 7
Publisher [1]: Kadokawa Comics / C74 / ...
Imprint [1]: Mogudan (There is no circle tag*)
Penciller [0-1]: Artist
(Genre [1]: Manga / Manga/Hentai / Artbook / Manga/Hentai/HCG / ...)
(Characters [0-N]: Kasumi / Tifa Lockheart / ...)
Legend for the above list: Tag [Values]: Examples (comment)
* Unfortunately ComicRack doesn't allow custom tags, thus circle is not available. Imprint is a surrogate tag until software develops.
I get the tag-data from primarily from doujinshidb & filename secondarily I read it myself.
[Goals]
Primary Objective:
- I shall tag my manga collection and release it to the community somehow.
Secondary Objective:
- If other people in the community are intrested in this kind of standardization, then: we shall work together to improve our collections.
Bonus Objective:
- With luck we may be able to persuade the release groups to embrace this library form.
-> It would be heaven for everyone.

Just because a thread doesn't have replies instantly doesn't mean that no one is interested in the topic. Give it a few days. I only say this because from your post count of 10, I believe you're new.
Some forums have less activity than others, so not EVERY thread will have 100+ replies within minutes of submitting - That's an exaggeration of course, but you get what I meant.
Just wait patiently.

9500+? Whooosh...
I seriously Have not used tags at all, ever. Maybe I should begin ^^
Though I can say I like the idea. I'm not a big collector myself but I can see it being interesting for those who are. Would be cool if Fakku started releasing in that .cbz-format as well as regular images.
Don't be let down just because people arn't interested >:3

Black - Ok
White - Not good
I hate all these app. without the properly custom option called: skin and back.
Just retry a few week later with a good screenshot of thumnails over black ONLY.
I cant tolerate it as is on my lovely dark desktop :)
NO MORE white nihon minimalism.

Joe-kun:
Yeah. Maybe I was over-anxious.
But at HF the thread kind of died. so sad. :(
And I got like 23000+ replys on my "hello" -thread.
Seri:
9500+ ... yeah, it kind of got out of control.
Tags dont _require_ .cbz -format. (it is a regular zip -file afterall).
The important thing would be the comicinfo.xml -file within the zip, for it holds all the tag data.
Ruthcroft:
I'm not the developer of that software. The bg could change if the app inherits it's colours from windozers colour scheme. Do tell us what you discover.
