Hello everyone. I've lurked forever. Finally joined after the 'Fakku Recommend' thread for visual novels was posted so I could download some stuff.
I've been watching anime since 1995, back when Sci-Fi used to show 'Saturday Anime'. Really didn't know what it was at the time, but was introduced to a lot of classics like Project A-ko, Lily CAT, Akira, Gall Force - to name a few that I remember they showed. Started buying up all the VHS anime I could find, which if you collected back before DVDs you'd know it used to be a really expensive hobby before such things as DVD box sets and fan subs online. I eventually bought something like right under a hundred VHS tapes (at $25-$30 each) over a short period of time and still have most of them stored somewhere...
Got into manga a few years later. Amassed a fairly big manga collection too - again this was before the common graphic novels that are in Barnes & Noble and Books a Million, so it was normal left to right reading on comic style issues. A local comic shop owner used to order me a lot of manga as I was one of the only person that bought from him. I honestly couldn't tell you how much comic-style manga I eventually bought but my graphic novel manga collection is pretty small compared to it - only around 140 books but I have plans to expand it.
I guess I could name off some of the stuff I'm particularly fond of:
Some of my favorite anime:
- Clannad
- Initial D
- Future GPX Cyber Formula
Some of my favorite manga:
- Karin (Chibi Vampire)
- Negima
- Futari H (Manga Sutra)
Some of the anime/manga related things I enjoy include building resin kits (my skills aren't that great, but it's fun) and playing Japanese import games (starting to build up my collection again).
I based my screen name on my love for the small Pontiac Fiero sports coupes. They were a car produced in the 80's that I'm pretty fond of. I've owned three and my current one is a '88 Fiero Formula, the last year they were made and only 1,303 examples painted white. I'm a mechanic so I do all my own work on all my cars I own.
I guess that's about it.

Some of my favorite anime:
- Clannad (over-rated, but good)
- Initial D (...what?)
- Future GPX Cyber Formula (look at above comment)
Some of my favorite manga:
- Karin (Chibi Vampire) (good choice)
- Negima (You mean Mahou Sensei Negima, right?)
- Futari H (Manga Sutra) (...reminds me of Futanari. Which is a good thing.)
Good job. Welcome to Fakku.
