Hello.

I've been snooping around here for a few weeks now and after reading Jacob's post imploring his readership to get involved as a means of giving something back I decided to do just that.
My interests, outside of the obvious, revolve almost completely around art and video games. I myself am practicing my own skills to become a professional artist in the gaming industry, and my ultimate dream is to lead or direct the production of a video game of my own vision. I'm a long, long way off from something that ambitious, though, and am perfectly willing to work hard in order to get there. I don't care if I have to mop the floors at EA, I will get a job in the gaming industry sooner or later and I will get involved with the creation process. It's just something I need to do.
My taste in anime is rather eclectic. I can sit down to a good shounen or even shojou title but I'm just as comfortable in the higher works of men like Miyazaki, Otomo, or Kon. I'm a big fan of Studio Bones as I tend to enjoy most everything they release, from the brilliantly handled "Full Metal Alchemist" and the severely underrated "Scrapped Princess" to the what I feel is their magnum opus the mecha epic called "Eureka Seven". I still like a good laugh, though, and I'm perfectly at home with titles like "Lucky Star" as well. I've been at this anime stuff since the late 80's so I'm well-traveled in this field.
That's it. Thanks for having me. I look forward to meeting some new people.

Hi hi and welcome to Fakku. Enjoy your stay. :D
Seems you've got good taste for anime. Have you by any chance watched Rahxephon? (by Bones) Good anime. :)

Welcome to FAKKU! Be sure to make yourself Active and Supportive.
Btw, what does a Gaming artist do? do they create characters and name them or something?

Most often it's concept work, yes, though my understanding is that these artists are typically helping others realize their vision to give the team as a whole the foundation they need to go about presenting and building the game itself.
In short, gaming artist give the game it's first breath of life.

Cool. When you make it big. You'd better make a game that's totally related to FAKKU and all of its known members!
