Hi i have been browsing this site for awhile now and so i thought i should make a profile. I am a metalhead, gamer (just PC now) and a movie buff. I love sci/fi, horror and action both when it comes to movies and anime.
Love the first episodes of Evangelion and the Akira movie and others. Not a big fan of the cute and funny anime. Loved Cowboy Bepop!
Iv'e also been a gamer since the commodore and amiga days hence the username. Love games and always will.
Anyways i hope theres some likeminded fellas and gals here and that we can share our interests. \m/
EDIT: I like some funny stuff but not the romantic and cute and fuzzy stuff.. :P

Fakku's community is diverse. You'll likely find people who do.

Welcome! :D
I too am something of a lurker, though mostly cuz I tend to forget to leave nose bleed to say hi to folks. Maybe I should post a introduction too. I don't remember if I ever did! lol
Anyway, glad to have ya! Fakku pulled me in after awhile as well, and for just the reason I'm guessing you joined up. This place has a great sense of community. Even someone like myself, who rarely posts much, can feel included here. And it's an unusual one at that. Go elsewhere and see if there is another board that talks so openly about certain subjects as we do here. I guarantee you'll be hard pressed to find one.
So you won't have to worry about finding folks who are like you, not here!
Also, I'd like to salute you as a fellow fan of cowboy bepop. Not only is that show funny in it's own way, but honestly, it's actually a lot deeper than it first appears. So few people in the area where I live get that. Most folks in my neighborhood dislike it. But I've won bets by making some of them watch it in order.
It's one of those shows you don't really grasp the depth of if you watch it out of order. TV broadcasts did that show a dis-service when they did that. Who's your fav character? For me, it's a hard pick but I'd have to say Ed. What an odd ball! lol

Oh its been so long since i saw it now. Guess i have to pick it up again soon. But my favorite character will have to be Faye. She is cold at first but she shows she has feeling at the end. If i remember right.
I first thought Spike was my fav but i kinda became a little angry at him for throwing everything away at the end.
But it was beautiful if still very sad.

Yeah, I do like Faye. She's a complexed character even though at first she seems like she's not.
As for Spike, he was an idiot for doing that. I can see why he did it though, even if I disagree. To him, he had already died and was living a shadow of his life. Like a ghost, he had unfinished business that was preventing him from moving on. Everywhere he ended up going were reminders of his past life when he felt more alive.
So somewhere along the way, he lost focus on trying to move on. Instead it became about finishing what he had left to do, so the curtain could be drawn. He totally lost the ability to look around him and see what he could still become. He just couldn't adjust I guess. A real shame. He and Faye could have truly helped each other.
I've often thought that cowboy bepop is about the human condition. It's really more about mankind's struggles to exist than the characters themselves. It just uses them to illustrate that point. Artfully done, but sad. I often wonder what becomes of that little group, and I think that's exactly what they were aiming for.
