What sources aren't telling you is that Russia has legitimate military bases in Crimea. This is what they have "seized".

I can care less for geopolitical relationships..I care for my best friend's safety. He is in security forces and is on standby to deploy there from what he's told me... :(

Plus they surrounded all the Ukrainian bases and docks. Then the militia try to 'persuade' the UN official to be detained and remove from the Crimea. I say militia since they wear no flags/ranks, but two soldiers said there from russia.
There a difference between fortifying a base and taking the area over with armed soldiers and tank/jets/helicopters. I don't think the Crimean autonomous militia has that shit.
