I'm a student who stays up late at night and well u can only eat those packet 2minute noodles oh so many times until ur sick. I was hoping people could help give simple recipes for some midnight snacks. I have a full kitchen with all utensils so no issue there.
- Easy mac
- Grilled Cheese sandwich (bread and cheese of choice + optional butter on the bread to give it a nice toast)
- Egg sandwich (egg + cheese + toast)
- Sandwich (seriously just bread and whatever, could list sandwich options forever lol)
- rice (any kind of rice you like + whatever you want to put into it or just plain); can also fry the rice in some oil
- soup out of the can (I usually like tomato soup or clam chowder, but just look down your local grocery isle for anything that looks good)
- fishsticks
- frozen pizza you bake in the oven (digiorno premium pizza's are great)
- microwave eggrolls
- mini bagel pizza's (can either buy them frozen or make them: English muffin + pizza/tomato sauce + cheese of choice + optional toppings)
- frozen croquettes or other Cuban delicacies found in local international frozen sections if you have that
Almost forgot; junk food.... lots and lots of junk food xD
If looking for snacks then some chips, candy, or a fruit you like is good. If you are looking for a quick meal then almost any cold sandwich is usually good.
Homemade trail mix is really great, just toss together some nuts, seeds, and dried fruit (and some good quality dark chocolate chips if you want extra fancy), mix well and then put it in a jar. You can make a big-ish batch and keep it in the cupboard for a while. It'll be hard to get out of your teeth if you've already brushed though.
Usually I don't like cooking during that time of the night, my ultimate midnight snack would be nachos since you only need to use the microwave.
Easy mac too.
Anything I can make in a microwave basically lol
Being a student myself I know the issue. Here are some of my easy favorites:
- Fried red beans with ketchup(oil, paprika, and red beans on a pan. Fry until it looks crunchy. Then add ketchup. By the way, used canned beans not dry beans, it is faster that way).
- Fried rice with scrambled eggs (boil rice, while rice boils make scrambled eggs. Add rice to pan and fry it together.)
- Pasta with onions (boil pasta, chop onions, fry onions on pan with oil, combine for surprisingly tasty dish).
While none of the above dishes are high class in any way, they take a maximum of 10 minutes to make and tastes quite good for the amount of effort required to make it.
