Casual Reading

Okay, so this is a question that's been eating at me for a while. How many people casually read hentai doujin/manga for the sake of plotline or just read it without any intention to fap?

Because I make it a habit of not reading hentai unless I'm going to fap.

Here. Usually it's the vanilla stories drawn in a rather cute (not obscene manner) that makes me want to read for plot and characters. Also, being a Fakku Helper (one who's able to edit doujin and manga information on the site), it helps to focus less on arousal and more on whatever the doujin shows, so that it can be tagged properly. And believe me... improper tagging happens here a lot.

Well, I can't say I read hentai "casually".
What I fap to and what I read, it all depends on the story and the artist.
See for example one of my favorite hentai artists is Takenoko Seijin, and I can say I've never fapped to his works but I enjoyed his stories so far.

Pretty much what Art said. I also help on fakku with tags and editing them so when I do so I can power through hentai and not get aroused. I think I was able to disassociate from the arousal factor even before so because to me hentai is art so I enjoy artwork in its own sense.. The ones I do like personally I'll just save for later fun material. It's bad that on here whenever I read works I seriously start thinking "this one is oppai with stockings and has nakadashi at the end" lol.

I'll often read hentai if the tags or art catch my eye or if it's from a show I like. Reading hentai and fapping aren't synonymous for me.

Basicly what everyone else said (but I don't help with tags and whatnot). Especially with series like Akatsuki Myuuto's Beautiful Girl's Club or Bow Rei's The Secret Flower Garden, you'd definetly rather just read.

Whenever I do get aroused, I will probably fap to something else. Fella Pure is one thing that I cannot read without fapping though.

I can't read without fapping D: I've tried, but my fap-game is too strong. I'll get aroused by pretty much anything, though there are a few exceptions.

I mean you said in your op you make it a point to fap when you read hentai unless it's not your taste so this is pointing out the obvious lol.

If you put your mind to it not getting off on hentai is not hard to do. I've read quite a few hentai here even if I love it I don't get off right away because I don't want to go there for the moment. Usually I think to myself that if I do I'll be tired and it'll mean I'll need a shower so hence I don't do it. I also look at hentai as art so when I start to analyze it more I am thinking less about what the content is for pleasures sake. Also helps I don't have a certain appendage so boner's are not a concern for me lol.

If you get off to it you get off to it, if you want to become less stimulated find a way.

I mean it's really no big deal, considering I don't have anything better to do with my time. full time virtual school allows me to do pretty much nothing all the time, so in the end it just helps with the passage of time. Also I apologize for basically repeating the same thing, I hate how I do that a lot where I say the same thing just worded differently each time. It's very annoying .-.

Most of the time I read hentai for the story. Most of the time, I don't fap to it, I just read it and I don't get that "attracted" to it. so ok

I sometimes think people who mention plot in their porn either are either falseflagging/have an agenda-lying/never read any better.

You can have plot points that turn you on and make something good even better depending on who you ask, but that's it.

As the others said, it really depends on story and art, but from time to time I'll get bored and read a hentai doujin/manga without any intention of fapping regardless of story/art.

Weirdly enough it takes me ALOT longer to actually fap if i saw hentai. IDK why but the same works for anything guy/guy related (and i'm bi!). But i can get one off pretty quick if its 2 girls and especially a decent Yuri. But over all i read hentai cause i like the story and art behind it. Its a hobby for me. Like chess. Or gaming. But i still get excited from it...ugh it makes no sense.

I often read hentai here if I have spare time. It's like a good short story, with porn. Fapping depends whether I'm horny or not.

Fuuga is a great example of something I read for the story.

I mainly read hentai to fap, I think it's safe to say I only do 90% of the time. But sometimes I'll just be in the mood to read some weird shit.

I read a lot of Vanilla's twice, once for the initial fap session, then once that's done for the story. I've read Momi's works about 4 times, and usually only 1 time for fapping. A great story is really what I find interesting about hentai!

There are times when I'll read it or download porn without fapping at the time - but that's kinda like collection mode. And it's going to be used eventually. =)

I do appreciate a lot of the aesthetic and artistic aspects - so when I'm downloading or occasionally casually reading I'll be more focused on colors, quality, lines, composition.

I'll read literature if I want a plot. That being said... compared to the shit on HGTV or the History channel... if you say you read for plot, I certainly won't judge.

I will say that occasionally I find something that is interesting, thoughtful, emotional enough to focus on reading, but that is very rare. I do like that hentai at least looks at and attempts to incorporate sex into every other existing genre. Usually to great effect imo... I like funny hentai and though I don't care for it while fapping, the horror stuff can be interesting too. And I'm always a sucker for fantasy armor elves. ;)

For me it just depends on the situation. Yesterday I tried to casually read all of Renai Sample, but I got so aroused that I had to take breaks to unload (if you catch my drift).

Some of my favourites that I've read so many times already I can just read casually because I feel like it, sure it might get me aroused but not necessarily so much that I need to unload.

Then there's also hentai that I don't read for the sake of sexual pleasure but rather because I'm curious about the content, stuff that is weird and/or twisted tend to end up here. For example I don't get off to reading Bondage Fairies, but I still enjoy reading it.

I do occasionally re-read some favorites just to enjoy the stories again.
