Should I Become a Subscriber?

The title says it all really, but first let me just elaborate on it a tad.

I must admit I was one of those who disappeared after the announcement that Fakku was taking the subscription route of business, not so much out of distaste for the practice itself but more because of the negative impact it meant for my content of choice (incest), and the inevitable clearing out of my favourites. I bummed around on other websites, Pururin in particular, but with none of them having the same detail, variety and user-friendly appearance that Fakku had (save for Pururin I feel, but with that website on its last legs its benefits are moot) I figured I'd touch base here.

The website looks more polished than ever, and it still has a pleasing amount of free content. However, in my desire to secure a place where I can relax and read over the hentai here in my free time (which is irritatingly rare these days), I am considering subscribing.

I've read the benefits that subscribers get, but I'd like to know whether it is really worth it for a man of limited means. USD $12.95 currently equals AUD $18.05 for me, and that is likely to fluctuate. So I'd be paying nearly $20 a month for porn, high quality porn admittedly, but porn all the same.

With my limited income, and free time, would being a subscriber be worthwhile? Would I have access to all those fancy looking hentai magazines that I see on the front page? Are the Hentai books covered by the subscription at all? And finally, is the payment method considered secure? (Last question seems a bit stupid really, but I'd like to hear subscribers experience with it all. Call me paranoid, but when it comes to cash I am known to fight for the last coin and will be damned if I do anything that may put my precious savings in danger.)

Sorry for the wall of rambling text, but I must know!

Well I'm not a subscriber, but I'm one of the magazine editors, but I'm sure some of them will pop up and tell you their experiences. Since you're very limited on your income and unsure, I would say try it for a month, you can cancel after a month if it ends up being too much for your income.

If your time really is limited you might not be able to get through all the subscriber chapters in that time period (we did over 150 chapters in the first month, but that was because of backlog, it'll be on average two chapters a day). I'd say try it out, then just subscribe whenever you find you can afford it for the month.

I've personally worked on a number on incest chapters, though it's usually a cousins situation, but there have been a couple bother/sister chapters as well., some by famous well known artist, others by some who have never before been published in English. My favorite brother/sister chapter so far has been I Hate You, by Madoka, who has fantastic art and I hope he shows up in future magazine releases again.

All our chapters are completely uncensored, and unlike other pay for sites, we are legit and the money is going to the people who help in the long line of producing the chapters into being, from the English translators to the original Japanese artist.

It all depends on your values and your budget. If your wallet is looking thin, you might want to think carefully. I personally don't think $20 is that much money. Pretty sure I can save an extra $20 any given month. That's basically spending one less dollar on food every day for 20 out of 30 days. If your budget is really that tight or you have big debts, then please don't. Fan translation groups will continue to exist.

Putting costs aside, what you'd be getting is really good and I have to second Romana's recommendation. I Hate You is one of my favorite works to come out of the subscription so far. Also if you want to see a sample of a FAKKU translation, there's half a color chapter out on the FAKKU Tumblr, check it out here. If you're still unsure then you can wait and see for yourself. There are plans to have some free content out after fan translated works are removed for good.

I recommend just trying it for a month. You're free to cancel whenever you like, and it'll all be there if you come back later. With all the content we have now it should be somewhat representative of what's to come as well. I think there's great selection right now and a fairly diverse spread of tags.

And as for your other concerns...
>Access to magazines
Subscription is all magazine content, which means you have access to every magazine release, current or past.
>Access to books
Sorry, but those aren't included. The books are separate from subscription works, and you'd have to pay for access to those individually. Buying a book gets you permanent access to that book though.
>Security
Not sure. I think FAKKU uses a credit card payment processor but I haven't looked into it. Maybe @jacob or one of the developers can tell you. I paid with Bitcoin which was handled by Coinbase (BTC payments will be handled by Bitpay in the near future).

I'd say that it's worth it for sure. I had a subscription for the first month that this all started and loved it. Great reads, even better artwork, fantastic stories for the most part; it's all preference I guess.

If you want some good reading material or what-say-what-have-you, then this is something to invest some time into. And even if you don't like it after the first month, you can cancel it!

But I do have to agree, "I Hate You" by Madoka was a really great manga to read.

Worth it? Yes.
Can you afford it? Depends on your income and expenses.

Not being able to afford it is why I haven't yet. Got 2 other subscriptions on the go, my hours are inconsistent and I'm on minimum wage, and I keep taking trips to the supermarket after work for junk food. Oops.

I'd say yes if you're able too, the content is wonderful and if you enjoy hentai it's a good thing to support. In the end though you decide (^^)

I'm in the same boat. $20aud is quite a lot, but, it does seem well worth it.
There should be more mags coming over time, which will increase the variety and what not, and make it more worth.

I'm mostly waiting for paypal, if they can get it (which is looking like they may not be able to), otherwise will probs subscribe when I have some spare dosh and have a proper source of income

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys! I think I may wait a bit till I actually get a bit more income before diving in, but you've all more or less sold me.

Especially helps when I can justify it as being less than a dollar a day for a monthly subscription!

I was hesitant at first, and as a first month subscriber and support, I can safely say that over time when there is more content it'd be really worth it. Now, there are only 17 pages of subscription content. You judge yourself. Is 17 pages of uncensored subscription status stuff magazine worth it?

I'm ~meh about mine, sometimes the premium reader is all wonky for me. Sometimes it doesn't load and stuff. The subscription is still in its infancy so I think you can expect changes/improvements in the near future. Holding out is your best bet, if you don't want to jump the fence right now.

There are many other things to do like video games coming out this month, like Fallout 4 and Call of Duty Black Ops 3 if you are interested. Just my 2 cents man! Whatever you do, and whatever money you spend, make sure that you have fun on the thing you bought.
