COM3D2 on Nutaku

Just saw on twitter that Nutaku got COM3D2 instead of Fakku and Im very sad about that... Did fakku lose out on the bid or did kiss not want to uncensor the game? Cause nutaku tends to censor adult games to their store standards...

KISS will do the localization while Nutaku will do the distribution. They haven't posted any FAQ or release the game. It is still unclear about the content of the game.

I just hope Kiss doesn't change anything to be within line with Nutaku's platform policies since they censored a lot of their web based adult games. Also mosaics? What will happen on that front ):

I think fakku is busy with honey select enough. When they can take over a game again.

Just as an extra tidbit on the conversation, Nutaku doesn't censor games, they just distribute it without removing the original censorship, which makes Fakku all the more impressive since they got Illusion to provide a non-censored version. They're partnered with DMM to distribute the games they own, which you may have noticed are almost all gacha games. We'll probably have more information on the release of COM3D2 after AX as Nutaku's twitter account mentioned having a booth there.

I disagree.

Impressive article, alright, I'm educated.

san's article talks about censorship that took place in 2016, most of which they undid and promised not to do again. For a while, there were no more incidents.
Last winter, they released Tenioha, a nukige. They completely cut an entire (mini) route out of the game involving a crossdressing boy. They also removed the blood from the deflowering scenes and rewrote it so the girls weren't virgins. Still hasn't been fixed to my knowledge. Also around that time Nutaku's president, Mark Antoon, was interviewed by PCGamer for an article:

Even though the characters are fictional, they must be and look 18 or older....No depiction of incest is allowed, no animals can be present, even incidentally, in a sex scene. And no sexual violence, blood, or death is allowed. Most importantly, every game that makes it onto the platform is reviewed by compliance team...
"[House Party] was given to us by the developer, we looked it over, and our compliance department failed that game," Antoon tells me. "We told them we could not put it up. There was blackmail in it, and we simply said you can't have that. And so we said we couldn't accept it..."

This was only 6 months ago, so yeah. I'm a little concerned with how Nutaku's "compliance team" is going to treat com3d2. It's not exactly a sex positive game. What exactly would they censor? Remove virgin maids, enforce slider minimums (no flat chests), and rewrite some of the more hardcore events (there's a blackmail event in cm3d2, also hypnosis, S&M, molesting, etc.). That sucks but shouldn't be unfixable through mods (I hope).

Kamihime Project R (February 2017) was also censored, and remains so to this day. Furthermore, I was told in early 2017 that the promise to refrain from censorship was made by and championed by a former employee, and Nutaku no longer felt bound by this promise.

I'm not up to date with Nutaku but my understanding was that they had been improving (somewhat) when it comes to cut content. I don't know where they stand today. Probably still some glaring issues.

Either way I really want to play this game the way it was originally intended. I wonder if we could contact the developers and urge them to ensure that it's released in tact. @Jacob I'll happily pay double price for this game if you can ensure a proper localization job.

So far interacting with their twitter account they said they are just publishing what KISS gives them and they won't be doing any of the localizing themselves, however it is like ppl said it is their platform and the games that go on their platform must follow their rules or they won't allow it on. So KISS most likely will alter content to go on the store?

I haven't seen the scenes in question so I'm not sure how offensive/infringing they are. But if deflowering blood were censored, for example, you'd know that was all Nutaku. The need to censor that wouldn't even occur to a Japanese company, and no other English adult publisher would recommend that.

Beta has been posted.

I took it for a quick spin and... I'm not impressed. There's just a general lack of care in the localization. It's littered with misspelled words and rather poor grammar. Some parts read OK and some are just really rough. I don't believe it's a machine translation, but if a human worked on this, they are definitely not fluent in English.

It doesn't seem to have any bugs though. At least not in the beta, so it doesn't seem like the game is broken.

I haven't played the original so I can't comment about any cut content.

Definitely try it yourselves and give them feedback. I hope they can turn it around.

Edit: It's become apparent that there are multiple translators working on the game, one of them being quite competent. The other(s), not so much. Some parts look spotless, some are actually hard to understand.

Edit 2: I've heard that the current build of the game is still pretty early in dev. If that means there's a lot of improvement to come, then I'm optimistic. I've also left my feedback. Hope things get better from here. Overall there weren't THAT many issues with the beta (except for the UI, that was a mess).

Apparently someone said on the Reddit that KISS did mention they had to remove content for the international release. So they probably removed scenarios with SM or NTR etc.

Well I just lost all interest in this version, will simply merg the English text files with my Japanese version (I bought btw, completely regret buying now).

Dude you have no chill. A random redditor makes an off the cuff comment about something he may or may not have heard and you're already talking about purchasing decisions.

Everyone who participates in this Games subforum is so damn hyperbolic about everything.

Use the feedback form. Use social media. Talk (don't scream) to the developers/publisher and tell them what you want. Tell others in the community to do the same. Convince the community that we deserve better and our standards need to be higher. Don't tell me nothing can be done and nothing's ever gonna change because you can't see the future.

Being cynical and pessimistic is not going to get anyone anywhere. You're just lowering expectations, which is good in the sense that people will be less shocked when they're disappointed. But it doesn't solve any real problems. People just start memeing about how shit everything is. Honestly I think it's toxic AF. We're at the point of people sending death threats over these games. If this community is so goddamn angry about it why don't you all start your own publishing company? Channel all that frustration into something positive instead of stewing in negativity.

If you ever played CM3D2 or COM3D2, you need CM3D2 to get 3 personalities and the scenario and story etc. and for the dance/songs. The fact that only COM3D2 is being localized means your missing out on half the content, not to mention 90%+ of all the mods only work on CM3D2 since they are glitched with COM3D2 and many mod makers are still only making it for CM3D2.

If you do not like COM3D2, there is a private facebook page where you are directly involved with the developers. Here you get the latest beta, and tests, livestream and more to see.

There you can share your worries and doubts, right up to the source.

I already checked out their facebook, I don't think they do anything at all in it.

Some of your critics seem to believe that in order to put a game on your store, you demand that certain types of offensive content are removed. Is that truly the case?

Yes, we cannot sell content that is illegal in Canada or the United States or doesn't pass our payment processors compliance rules (these have been dramatically updated since we first started).

But certainly there are some things we can't distribute like underage content, snuff, gore, sex with animals, etc.

The prohibited content is legitimate.

But there will surely be mods that bypass that, should you be afraid: D
