The grid UI for artist pages with no tags is just plain bad.

Why does every site have to become more minimalistic, and thus, remove more readily available visual information to the user? Being able to see the tags of a work without visiting it is insanely nice, now if we visit a given artist's page it's become a guessing game on what content is in each of their respective works.
The original list view is way better, like what you see on the front page. At the very least a toggle for the grid look would've been nice :/

I agree with you. I also don't know if this is just me or not, but the edges of my webpages are cut off a little bit. As if my zoom was a little messed up.

I have a specific set of fetishes (anal and double penetration, if you're curious), the absence of which diminish the entertainment value of hentai I read/watch. Visible tags are a HUGE help in letting me know if I should buy a certain work.

Seeing this complaint a lot. The grid view is definitely here to stay as the default, but we are happy to add a toggle for list/grid for everyone to use (your preference will be saved to your browser). A lot of staff at the company also miss the list view, so it'll definitely be back soon.
I also made a new thread to track bugs like this with the new design, keeping it in one place will help get them fixed faster.

I think this is a poor move overall, several people left the beta branches over this design choice and has lead to what I believe is a confirmation bias that the grid view is what people want, the grid should be the toggle option and not the default. No one wants to click on every chapter to see if their porn is or is not up their alley or their particular mood that day.

3 months later... I can't think of why this wouldn't be super simple to add back unless the website is coded externally

Can we please receive any form of update on this whatsoever? I literally canceled my subscription over this, and resubbed thinking that it ought to have been fixed by now.

So after half a year I'm there's been no updates on this front, I can't help but think that this was just a PR move to keep people subscribed. Grid view still continues to look and feel worse then list view did

I spoke with our web dev team about this since I think it warrants a bit of an update (as much as I can provide, anyhow). Basically, the long version answer is that with our main storefront needing to be completely rebuilt and that taking a majority of our time, we've had to put a lot of features on the backburner. We've got the store back up (Hooray!) and we've integrated physical book sales and pre-orders at this point (double-hooray!), but we still have a lot more development to do in order to get the site the way we want and need it to be. With that being said, a list view is something that many people, staff included, want to put back into play. We just haven't had the time to do so with much more pressing issues on hand.
The short, TLDR version is that we want it, too. We're going to get to it. We just are busy working on the main storefront and haven't been able to dedicate the time and staff to do so.
I hope this helps. I know it's not an ETA or definitive answer, but it's still something that we want to see added back into the site as well.
