vanilla heals your soulVanilla heals YOUR soul.
For mine its Mind Control, Futanari, Oppai, and Oral.
Different strokes for different folks.
In fact if there is one genre we have TOO MUCH of its vanilla.
Its an ocean.
Were drowning in the stuff.

Femdom. Could always use more of that genre. Stories that dive into the power dynamic between men and women.

I had trouble choosing between vanilla and slice-of-life, and in the end I went with SoL because I personally Read Hentai For The Plotâ„¢. I know that sounds dumb, so what I mean is this: hentai doujinshi are ultimately a literary medium in the same way as graphic novels are. If the plot really didn't matter at all, sites like Fakku wouldn't even need to exist -- why bother translating hentai doujinshi at all if the plot really is as irrelevant as we tend to joke about, right? Moreover, hentai doujinshi have an additional hurdle over live-action porn in that it needs to suspend the audience's disbelief without being able to rely on the immediacy of real-life people doing real-life things. This is where the doujinshi mangakas' abilities to illustrate stories and characters compelling enough to get their readers to buy in is tested; in other words, this is where the capital-A "artistry" of the genre's authors are displayed.
I chose SoL over vanilla because I think the relaxed nature of the SoL genre can allow more freedom for authors to play around with inventive scenarios, stuff that might prove too difficult to fit into the relatively well-defined bounds of vanilla. Ultimately, I appreciate hentai doujinshi for the creativeness and inventiveness of the genre, along with the incredible skill of the authors in it, but this is a literary medium, and I feel there is still great potential to be tapped on the literary side -- something which is often forgotten about in lieu of the drawings themselves.
But most importantly: I chose SoL because there was no tomboy option. You're breaking my heart here, you guys.
