u use it when ur showing its simple, similar to "there you go"
EX You just add some of that stuff over there and Bob's your uncle.
or You just add some of that stuff over there and there you go.

amidoin it right?

Why would you say Bob's your uncle though? How the hell did Bob's your uncle become that?
I've never heard of it till now

Actually I use it quite a lot, but I use a lot of British slang even though I'm an American. Don't ask why, I just do. I don't know how many times I've gotten a confused look because I'll say something about "taking the piss" out of someone.



Yeah pretty much that covers it. Also used a lot to indicate surprise. Not like OMG! but subtler. *shrugs*

It's a pretty British tert, and we say it A LOT, like 'Taking the Mick' or 'Duck' or 'Chuck', anything like that.

Ithink it's a great phrase...
