A Better World?

I want to be a good person when I die. I don't think I am right now, but I'm trying my best to work towards that goal. Sitting back while atrocities of all varieties are committed are something I cannot live with. I believe in our species being proper wardens of the environment around us. I believe in the innate good within all of us. I believe in lifting the veil of ignorance from all our eyes. Discrimination in all it's forms is wrong.
I see people dying from curable if not manageable diseases all the time. They could very well live down the street from a hospital that could have helped them, the only thing stopping them from getting the help they needed was money. Isn't that wrong? Do we really put a price on life in such a way? Maybe I am an idealist, an idiot, and a retard for thinking so, but I just want to see the world in a better place than it is now before I die.

Unfortunately "Money makes the world go around" quite a lot of the time, It's not something we should be proud of and I'm sure doctors aren't as cruel hearted as to want to not give treatment to patients but things cost money for hospitals, surgeries, dentists and pharmacies any medication that requires more than just some good advise needs to be purchased from somewhere.
As a whole I can't see the day earth will turn around and remove currency, It's to dependent on it, even if it does have it's draw backs.

Money will make the world go around for as long as we let it. It's human greed that propagates the lie that money is a necessary evil. It's not necessary at all! People enjoy having more than others, and it's why our world is in the mess that it is. Humanity has an innate desire to learn and explore, so we don't need to get paid to do all of that, do we? No, we don't!
Communism is as flawed as capitalism, so don't get the wrong idea that it is what I am proposing. No, we just need to get our collective act as a species together and look out for each other.

Yes, I understand your point as I've had many conversations with friends about how we would already be at space travel if we were to drop guns and money out of the equation, however the greed that is the human race will not allow such a thing to happen. It's just not possible in this day and age.

It's just not possible in this day and age.A worldwide cataclysm could occur tomorrow and we would have to rebuild from the ashes of what we were and into something better. The way we govern ourselves has been changing over the millennia. Yet, we need to move towards this goal in the now instead of speaking of it occurring far into the future, in a few centuries time, it isn't feasible to wait that long. How would anything get done?
It's not going to happen overnight, there would be discomfort, but we could do it.

If a worldwide cataclysm were to happen tomorrow then yes I'd agree, but the world as it is right now would not subdue to such ways of loosing currency, to governments it would be like loosing their main power.

Yeah, it's as great a time as any to do so, but seriously? It's so easy for us to say shit like that. "Oh, we need a global cataclysm in order to wipe the slate clean and begin again". "There is no chance for this to occur in our day and age!" People said that about going to the moon, and we did that within 10 years, so what the fuck is stopping us from righting the wrongs we propagate with our backwards thinking?

Greed has become part of the human nature, kinda like smiling and laughter. As long as people won't stop their wants, a perfect world isn't possible.
or at least that's what i believe.

I didn't want to word it like that but that is pretty much the truth of the world.

The Space Race was more out of fear of the reds than wanting to actually go to the moon. If the Russians hadn't sent Sputnik into orbit the Space Race would probably have never gotten off the ground.
OP even before currency was invented people were already trading with each other with goods other than money, we call it bartering.

Edit: OP unfortunately the world isn't in black and white, everything is a murky shade of gray. Your views are admirable but naive.

This. And it makes me want to believe that something will really happen on the December of next year. Or the world's reset button.

Spoiler:
Naive is a strong word to use on what Del is being, I'd use something like Closed-minded. Del you must realise that as everything above has been said it can't just be black and white just as Spectre said there will always need to be something in place, even if you took all of it away, how long before people start creating a currency again ?

It's already planned. But we can still do our best to make things better as we could. Oh~ Humanity.

A better world, imo, is one where you, if you really care about this world being a better place, do what you can, when you can, to make others happy. If many of the people on Earth adhere to this, and keep their expectations realistic for exactly how much positive change they can bring about in other people's lives, this place truly can be a better world (just perhaps on a smaller scale than you are thinking).
