About Flashdrives...

Long story short, I ejected my flashdrive earlier in the day only to find out that it wouldn't load any of the data when I put it back in later that same day. It suggested that I format it but that would've gotten rid of everything that I had on it (24-26ish GB of various things). What I want to know is, can the data be transferred or moved from the flashdrive onto something else? I was thinking of taking it to Best Buy or something and have them have a crack at it but I have my ecchi/hentai files on there as well and some of it could probably be mistaken for CP (touhou, lucky star, etc.) and the last thing I need is to go to jail for something stupid like that.
edit: Could someone please help? I don't want to lose all of my files!

There are several things you can do actually. From my experience, the index where all the files are registered are corrupted. Your files is still there but operating system can't find it as it need to read the index first. So, you need a special software to restore back the index.
Or, if you find this things complicated, why don't you visit this website and grab any tool you desire to get back all the data.Free Data Recovery

Run chkdsk on the drive. Should fix it in a jiffy and doesn't require you to download some random thing off the internet.

Thanks for the tips, but the problem is that it doesn't show up at all on the computer. When you insert a flashdrive there should be an icon or something but none of that happens. I can't access the flashdrive in any way. Sorry if it was a stupid question though; overtime at work + lack of sleep = mind in limp mode.

you must have a MAC, because if the system would recognize the flash and tell you it doesn't recognize the device. your going to have to use a program to clone the data out. if i wrong and you have a pc, go to my computer and see if the drive is open, ie f:\ g:\ ect and chdisk it

I would've done what you said if I could. I have a dell pc and a sony laptop by the way.

then the drive is corrupted. you can try the programs they might be able the brute force it or a small computer repair shop, but like you say the loli factor may hurt you. and formatting might be out since you computer wont read it.
