About learning stuff on the web

I've been using YouTube a lot for studying and learning lately. The multi-modality of it makes me learn better.
Do you use it a lot?
Maybe you have other arenas for learning?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm writing a bachelor degree about it. Maybe you guys have some input.

I wouldn't really trust Youtube all that much, a great majority of users upload videos for their convenience and usually have huge biases. The reason why it's easier to learn from it is because it's a video format and you look at stuff ON a video, instead of a book. Others can't watch videos but learn from hearing the videos.

Basically, I don't use youtube for any subject that uses words (Eg: Biology, History, etc) for the same reason as the guy above me. But when it involves formulas and computations (Math, Physics, Etc) I use youtube. It helps me a lot and even helped me pass a couple of my exams.

I use Google to find multiple sources to a question I have for something. If all the sources say the same, it must be true.
Hasn't failed me yet.

I use multiple sources to obtain knowledge .. Youtube is the least of them because you can't find exactly what you are looking for, well for me anyways.
Google has been on my good side lately, Wikipedia is giving me the basics I need to have a good start on learning history and myths, Youtube for the fun stuff to learn, and also Fakku since members here are very informative and helpful.

Don't over rely on youtube, as not all of the videos are meant to teach you. But then again, Youtube is great when you're having a hard time in solving math problems. I'm just using youtube for Software tutorials (Like them adobe programs like Indesign, premiere pro etc.)
Other references can be searched via Google since Wikipedia just gives us a basic idea of a certain topic.
Some sites that you can find on google specialize in some fields. Though they are quite unpopular, they give more in-depth information compared to Wikipedia.
Regarding other references on the web, just make sure that the information you get came from a reliable source Don't just get infos from blogs which do not give citations and references of some of the parts of their post.

If I want indepth knowledge, I use google scholar or some other databases I have access to. Youtube is for summarizing. I think however that the EDU part of youtube is getting better

I have learned many skills from online tutorials, for sure! I love really well done visual guides for knitting and crocheting (I post links to a few on my blog, linked in my sig, if interested).
Instructables is great, as are other niche learning sites for different trades/fixes/crafts. Hell, I learned how to remove and nicely replace the caulking in my home's showers and tubs from a video site :)

I've used various websites to learn Japanese, though none of them have really helped all that much so I'm trying to start language classes in a local school / college that does adult education. As for Youtube, I've used it to try and learn to draw manga / anime though it wasn't very effective. I think that was more the fact that I'm a terrible drawer really, aha!
