Sorry, it's hard for me to type right now because I just downloaded Amanda Palmer's new single:



It's.. amazing. It's different from what she normally does in terms of angst but.. it's so.. bouncy! And loud! And electric! And I just really want to punch something out of joy! If that's possible!

In complete honesty, each split-second snippet sounds like musical nirvana and I'm PSYCHED. I'M FUCKING PSYCHED PEOPLE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA. D:

I thought the 'fucking' addition to her name was just you in a happy mode from listening to her new single, didn't actualy know her stage name was Amanda Fucking Palmer. That's a pretty gorgeous name.

Amanda pays mad attention to her fans. She's gotten in trouble for it a few times. She's also insanely happy where she is in her life and she's so full of this crazy energy. It's infectious and I want to catch it D: But I haven't seen her yet. v_v

You seem quite keen on concerts and music, do you play anything by chance?

I liked her when she was still in The Dresden Dolls, does that make me cool?

I loved the Dresden Dolls as well, but I feel she's really grown and matured as an artist since then. I can also see how her new stuff may be a stark contrast to her old stuff, especially considering she's in a much more positive place mentally/emotionally/spiritually. There's significantly more joy in her music.

Wait, so she isn't doing anything with the Dresden Dolls anymore? They're no longer a duo? I'm kind of disappointed, but good for her anyhow. That's great. As for the song itself though, I personally didn't care for it - it was too screamy for me which isn't my preference. That's just me though.

Actually they'll be touring together in the very near future.

I'm also not 100% on this.. but I think I remember reading something about possible new Dolls material being released in the slightly-more-distant future as well.

I really dug the new album with the Grand Theft Orchestra.
I might take a peak at her earlier stuff.

I have to warn you -- it's more emotionally raw, but not nearly as polished. She's grown a lot since those days and greatly improved in terms of vocal stamina and cleanliness. I definitely recommend her earlier stuff because she's just awesome period, but I have to admit.. her new shit is just tops.
