Animal Cruelty as Portrayed by the Media

I feel I should begin by saying I in no way enjoy , or advocate animal cruelty , but I am seriously sick of the fucking media ,and certain groups of people allowing these stories to overshadow injustices happening TO ACTUAL HUMAN BEINGS. I realize animals are living things to , but when I hear about people raging about a marine throwing a puppy of a cliff ,and demanding punishment like he was some type of serial puppy murderer , but turning the other cheek when we blow the shit out of an area loaded with children I'm more then a little confused. I get why sending Michael Vick to jail is fair punishment for having dog fights , but when it takes away camera time discussing a public official paying to have sex with little boys like its less important I am fucking outraged. I don't like animal cruelty , but I want to know why people are able to show more anger ,and displeasure with this , than the mistreatment of their fellow man. Am I missing something ? What is the opinion of users on here about this ,and how stories on animal cruelty are handled.

This shit gets air time more than needed because of legal pressures and money exchanging hands, thereby stifling the better news stories. If you don't like hearing this in the news, change the fucking channel, or start reading into other outlets. It's not hard to find a new news source.

5 minutes ? No. Several 10 Minute stories played frequently over the course of several months on over 10 different major news networks totaling to several hours a week over the course of these months? Yeah bad.

You can do this or you can go around the country stopping animal cruelty so you don't have to listen to it. Either one works.

Honestly, this shit sells. Just change the channel to one that doesn't have animal cruelty. Alternatively, do what I do and get online and receive it from news aggregator sites. They will link you to pretty much any story you want, and have them separated into neat sections. HUNDREDS OF REPUTABLE NEWS SITES BROUGHT TO YOUR MONITOR IN SECONDS!

I have to agree, this is pretty much how I get my news too. Sure it's satirical but the story still gets across, at least I can get a laugh out of it even if it's serious and not something I'd usually laugh about. Shit at least it's not so depressing. As for the animal cruelty thing, I don't hear about it that often aside from a couple of times I randomly DO watch a normal news broadcast.

No, it's not really silly. News shows are spending more and more time on fluff stories like the so-called "ground zero mosque" and less on serious shit like, oh, how our constitutional rights are being violated by letting the government place a gps tracker in your car without a warrant (see this article). I think animal rights stories are just more of that same fluff thrown over our eyes so that we don't rage at the real injustices that are being perpetrated.

People kill people on a daily basis. It's almost so natural it's hilarious. We stopped giving a shit about humans killing human a long time ago. It's only when there's some big incident that we actually give a shit. People are pretty fucking useless. We're only useful for destroying everything around us.

As for injustice? Get used to it. The world is filled with this shit. It's all a case of luck which ones are shown in the media.

More or less. Animals do what they do cause it's based on their instinct. Same for small children. Can't say the same for people.
