Antenna

Anyone here have made custom antenna? if so, please let me know if you found a good or cheap directional antenna design. This is all for Extended wifi signal of course.

currently, I'm trying to make one right now out of aluminum. Trying to make it good 3~4 bar signal over 50~100ft


P.S. yeah I'm to cheap to buy those 70$ wifi extender that doesn't even give good range.

I used a parabolic aluminum dish to amplify a signal once with marginal results, but i don't think you can have real good improvements without some sort of powered amplifier.

So that mean with additional new dish i need to give it more power? I'm only looking for 50~100ft away or signal good enough for one block no more then that o_o

if so then do you have any power amplifier suggestion? or do i need a new modem with some kind of antenna connection?

You can always roll a 50-100ft cable with a wifi hotspot lol.

But honestly, I think you need an amplifier.

If you need to be on that distance temporarly, can you make your mobile into WIFI hotspot?

Most smartphones have that function.

The thing is, I'm trying to do that over from one building to another so cable is out of of the option. Another is wifi hotspot using the phone data is to expensive for long term use.

This what I have setup and only getting very low 1 bar from it over other place.
