Apple > Microsoft

As of this morning’s market close, Apple is now worth more than Microsoft. Stocks go up and down, and things may well be different tomorrow, but I thought it was worth a moment of reflection today.



This is quite an impressive feat for a company on its deathbed in the 1990†²s. It’s even more impressive to think that the biggest tech company in the World only makes five different computers, one phone, one tablet and four MP3 Players. Great products do make a difference.

Of course, in no way is the Market Cap a perfect metric for measuring the size of the companies. In terms of employees and revenue, Microsoft is still king. But again, if you consider what Apple have been through for the past 10 years, this is an absolutely stunning turnabout, regardless of what things will be like tomorrow.

Apple = over 500% up.
Congratulations to Apple and to those who bought their stock.

Apple has had it's fanboys since 1984, but they were close to dying during the 1990's. The fanboys make up a very small proportion of people who purchase Apple products.

Like it or not, Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the best video game of all time, according to GameRankings. Haters will hate, but what's true is true.

Apple is better managed and more diversified than Microsoft. Also, Microsoft products satuated the market where hackers approve of any development of Microsoft products.

And I'm willing to bet you haven't even played the game. No self-respecting gamer can call SMG2 anything but a great game after playing it.

Good for them. It would be nice if they could make their computers cheaper though. I don't give two shits about their other products to be quite frank (though to be fair that's just because I don't care about MP3 players or fancy phones, not Apple's products themselves), but if they could actually give Microsoft some competition in the home computer market I'd be happy to support them.

Honestly apple products are shit. Everything i had from apple breaks within the year and if thats not the case it's too damn expensive and shitty looking from the get-go

I dunno my Ipod Nano 4th gen has managed to stay alive for the past 2 years now :S

Still there are certain aspects I don't think Apple will be able to compete in such as server related markets and supplying large corporations.
But good on them for achieving high stock prices.

Most of the Wii's killer titles such as twilight princess, metroid prime and brawl are nothing new (still all very good games) but Super Mario Galaxy is different. It refined 3D platformers as much as Mario 64 did. It was completely new and you have to credit them for that.



None of my Apple products EVER broke. Some of them even as old as 8 years.

And I'm having trouble believing him because every Apple product comes with one year of AppleCare. If they truly broke he could have gone to get a replacement.

Well, Apple are no doubt the fastest growing Computer Tech company out there, I personally don't use any apple-products by the reason that I can't afford it right now.
Still, i don't think I've ever even heard of anyones Ipod breaking from less than being washed or dropped from at least the third floor of a building.

Give apple a few more years and they'll start to really compete on the market, they may be expensive, but the quality of their products live up to it.

I still wonder what practical use the Ipad has though, I suppose it can work out as a decent netbook or something but still... idk.

That's more like common knowledge, why to do millions on different computers; Why not just make simply a powerful, a not so powerful, and a weak comp for just browsing and such. Easier to handle all of them and give support and such.

Apple is cool in that; No, i have never touched any apple myself. I am not rich enough for such a things.

I'm sorry, but you'd have to credit a lot of gaming companies for a lot of things just because they can tweak a title in their series. I'm not saying it's not impressive, but don't sit their and pat Nintendo on the back for their ingenuity when they essentially did nothing out of the ordinary, nay they did was they had to do to keep a new series fresh.

That's like patting me on the back because I went to the potty yesterday. :P
