Do you think you're an otaku? Well then what do you think make you an otaku? I'm sure as hell's not. You can show a picture of your collection of anything if you want.

I'm a weeb. I get scared that one day there won't be anymore good anime and manga.

What's the different between an otaku and a weeaboo anyway? As far as I understand it...
- An otaku is one who religiously follows anime series' they like, or the anime market in general. In the native language it means "geek", but in the West it solely refers to Japanese products. In Japan otakus are looked down on in society thanks to The Otaku Murderer, so getting called one is an insult, and if you call yourself one you'll be looked down on.
- A weeb is one who thinks that because they know a few Japseye words and phrases, they consider themselves Japanese (aka Wapanese, short for Wannabe Japanese), or are an expert on Japanese Culture. They may or may not try (and fail) to speak in a similar manner to the Japanese, including emulating their characteristic high pitched voices. There's probably a word for it, but I'm going to call it Onii-chan/kun/san/nii/sempai sugoi kawaii uguu desu-speak.

Following grav's explanation, nah, I'm not. My sister is a weeb, I'm highly annoyed by that.
I read mangas/VNs, I am posting on a hentai website, I've been thinking about learning japanese(Would be fantastic on my intended work-field.).
But that's it, not into figures or converting people to wapanesis(is this a religion now?)
