ATI VS NVIDIA

So, We all know the on going dispute between ATI and NVIDIA here are reasons why I like both Well first off I use NVIDIA I just sold of my 295's for gtx 480's but not the point NVIDIA is great because of alot of the processes it can handle such as physics like breaking stuff and shit =D that and the fact its able to process animations alittle better then ati chips by about 5-10% which is good if you get bitchy about "OMIGAWD THE ANIMATIONS ARE OFF" nvidia is all around amazing but here is where ati rapes nvidia any day resolution and textures ati handles 44billion simple textures 25% better then nvidia can which is really fucking great if you play stuff like second life with millions of textures also the fact ati can handle high res screens10% better then nvidia any day that may be but considering I like blowing shit up I stick with nvidia BUT ANY WAYS " Hi i'm new to the forum and thought I'd make a technology related thread for my introduction" please give your input on your chip maker please =D i liek to hear why people like nvidia or ati better

Calm down, take a deep breath, and present your statements again. Try to take breaks in between thoughts this time, and it would be nice if you presented external evidence in the form of articles or benchmarking tests.

What Tegumi said, but you make a valid point... still, I only bought an Nvidia card because my friend told me that it works the best with DoW. Never tried ATI before, and I don't think I want or need to.
Oh, and welcome to the forums ig ^w^

LeetFeetCupcake, your post is unreadable and incoherent.
I do however get the last 1-2 lines where you ask a question..
I like nVidia at the moment since their drivers work well with my linux distro. When I was younger and gamed more I bought ATI because of a better price/performance ratio.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
I've always considered ATi to have a superior price/performance ratio. Which is important, cause I really dislike having to rebuy hardware too often.
That and nVidia always fucks up for me. Not sure what it is, probably just got unlucky with the few cards I had from them.

The ATi/nVidia debate is the same as the AMD/Intel debate.
ATi & AMD products are more stable, and you get a better price::performance ration.
nVidia * Intel products are bleeding edge, but often less stable and will cost you a pretty penny.

so thats when I thought I'd join the forum
and the external evidence = go buy you one of nvidia's or ati's top of the line cards and bench mark it your self

But wouldn't ATi & Intel be the best?

The "Best" varies widely on what you want to do, but ATi and Intel isn't really a good combination.
Mainly because AMD owns ATI and Intel owns a large portion of nVidia. It's basically just two sides.

I love NVIDIA because my first card from them (a 8800 GTX) was kick ass, never failed once, and lasted a very long time. I will probably buy another for my new computer.

I like nVdia more, but the current line of ATIs want to make me buy one.. though, the soon to be release 400 series of nVda makes me want to wait for that.
The horror and the dilemma!

In before shit fight.
I have no personal bias, I buy whatever is good bang for my buck at that particular time frame.
But it seems like the general consensus is this:
Nvidia is better when it comes to how their drivers are designed and are solid cards but ATI trumps them in bang for buck and driver update frequency.
Aside from performance when purchasing a card one should also consider things like warranty, how fast is the company's RMA turn around time ect and general support for the product you bought.
When I refer to companies I refer to the likes of ASUS, Palit, XFX, ect as these are the guys you buy the cards off not ATI and Nvidia they just supply the cores the cards are based around.

I like Nvidia mainly for the CUDA technology it offers and how it takes the strain off your processor and uses your graphics card instead. I have a weak 2Ghz dual core and with the CoreAVC codec, watching high-def h.264 movies with its CUDA acceleration enabled makes me a happy camper. ATI is trying to come out with something similar as well but so far nothing much has jumped on its bandwagon. It would be nice if both of them came out with a shared architecture to do this so I would be more inclined to get one of ATI's cards.
If you want nice features go Nvidia.
If you want the most bang for your buck, go ATI.

Well, One reason I guess I like Nvidia more is because I have had bad luck when buying Ati card they always died with in 2 months or so but I guess its to be expected I'm an overclocking whore T.T

nvidia, compatible with a lot of games. and it's quality is good. Moderate pricing. For me it's better than ATI
