Agreed. That definitely seems to be their issue. If they would just take everything seriously I bet the majority of people would take them seriously, and heaven forbid support their beliefs and endeavours.

We have the RSPCA to investigate animal cruelty, I like meat, and all our battery farming is strictly regulated - I've seen a modern battery chicken farm and it's relatively cool, spacious and kind to them; incidentally, I've also been to an abattoir, and I feel the methods of killing animals to be perfectly humane. Fur trade is seriously derided and performing animals are limited or banned; I would also say that a significant proportion of people here now eat free range stuff anyway, as part of the same health/moral bandwagon as organic foods, and so I hold an extreme dislike for most of what PETA do and think.

Spoiler:
They're stunned with an electric shock to the neck before they're even killed, so they don't feel a thing. The worst thing you could argue is that they seem a bit scared right before they die, and I don't see that stopping world meat consumption.

PETA's not big enough for everyone to care about. It doesn't even matter because we still gon' eat those animals. IT TASTES GOOD

No, I must have missed it. I've seen a few elsewhere though, and like I say I've been to an abattoir (albeit years ago).

I heard PETA said they dont want a cure for cancer if it has to be tested on animals.
Also PETA has killed many animals. Since 1998, PETA has opted to “put down” 21,339 adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens instead of finding homes for them.
PETA’s “Animal Record” report for 2008, filed with the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, shows that the animal rights group killed 95 percent of the dogs and cats in its care last year. During all of 2008, PETA found adoptive homes for just seven pets.
Just seven animals -- out of the 2,216 it took in. PETA just broke its own record.
