Band Geek stereotypes, are they true?

What the title says.
For starters yes, I was a band geek, I was in High School Marching Band etc., but what I am wondering is whether all those stereotypes in those comedy/teen movies are true.

Anyone else who was in High School band I'd like to hear your thoughts and opinions, or anyone who heard the stories at there High School, or even dated a band geek. Maybe for some of you this is reaching far back into your memories, but heck if I can remember some of those times (and I am 25) I am sure the rest of you could remember something.

I myself don't know many of the stereotypes, but I can tell you for sure there wasn't a whole lot of making out and sex going on between band geeks at my High School.

I was in Junior High when the popularity of American Pie skyrocketed, and I was in band during Junior High. I was a percussionist. Worse yet, my girlfriend at the time was a flutist.

... oh yeah. I swear for those couple of years where people didn't stop talking about American Pie were hell for us. I ended up quitting band my last year in Junior High, which ended up being the same year that her and I broke up. Then it started all over again because everyone thought that was the reason we broke up. Christ. American Pie ruined my young, teenage years. :P

Meh, the "band geek" term depends on how arrogant the school members are.

Im not in band at my school, i am in chorus but band and chorus are closely interwoven at my school so i know most of the people in band and orchestra, only a few of them are nerds a large majority of them are actually pretty popular people and a quite a lot of them are even on a bunch of the sports teams. Quite a few of the girls in band are total sluts and a lot of the people in band and chorus drink and do drugs (that may be because i go to highschool just 30 minutes outside of detroit though lol) and go to parties and hook up with random people. The girls who are sluts though are all pretty fucking crazy.
