An awesome show. I love the depth and especially the camera work and directing.

The lack of posts makes me believe that not many people watch this show, so let me educate you on this awesome series:
"The world ended with no warning, and all that was left … was hope.
The Cylons were created by the people of the Twelve Colonies. Intelligent robots, they were used as slaves and soldiers to fight humanity's wars. But the Cylons became sentient and they rebelled. Man and machine fought to a bloody stalemate, then the Cylons withdrew to a remote region of space.
A truce between the Twelve Colonies and the Cylons lasted for 40 tense and silent years. Each year, on the anniversary of the treaty-signing, humanity sent an envoy to the neutral ground of Armistice Station to meet with a Cylon envoy. For 39 years, no Cylon envoy came.
Then, on the 40th anniversary, a stunning blonde — a Cylon in human form — met the human envoy … moments before the Cylons vaporized the station and launched a genocidal attack on the Twelve Colonies.
In one devastating day, billions of human lives were consumed by nuclear fires. Only those souls fortunate enough to be aboard starships were able to band together and escape and flee into deep space, led by the sole surviving Colonial warship, the battlestar Galactica.
The Galactica and its crew seemed to be unlikely saviors for humanity's fewer than 50,000 desperate survivors. The ship was old and had been about to be decommissioned and turned into a museum when the Cylon attack occurred. In the aftermath its commanding officer, William Adama, found himself responsible for safeguarding the last remnants of the human race.
Meanwhile, the annihilation of the Colonial government on Caprica resulted in the succession of Laura Roslin, the Secretary of Education, to the presidency. Driven by prophetic visions and political necessity, she set the fleet upon a quest that will take it into the farthest reaches of unexplored space … in search of the mythical, lost "13th colony" — Earth."
For those that want a pure Sci-Fi experience will be dissapointed as it is more of a drama show but it does have it's Sci-Fi moments. The story will draw you in along with it's scenarios of right or wrongs...
Watch it, it's a great show.

weren't the Cylons the bad guys in Battle field EarthNup. Never read/watched the series but the antaganist race in Battlefield Earth are the Psychlos.
Even if it was, Battlestar Galactica was concieved in 1968 and was turned into a TV series in 1980 and now we're on the remake.

Battlefield Earth is based on the sci-fi writings of L. Ron Hubbard, the nutty guy who founded Scientology.
Anyway, the modern Battlestar Galactica is truly an awesome series, light years better than the old campiness which came first =). The whole "who's a cyclon, it could be you, or you, or even you, and you don't even know it till the time comes!" element really kicks up the drama a few notches. Great acting and characters all around too, I particularly like Gaius Baltar and William Adama.

Yes, a fellow BSG follower. :D I've never watched the old series so I don't know if it had the same elements, but guessing from your statement they didn't have Cylons masquerading as humans?

They also had the annoying little cute innocent boy mascot and his furry robo dog and Adama was more like a nice grandpa than the kickass mofo he is now. I guess that's what sold back then, I prefer the new hardcoreness =).

I dunno, is there anywhere I can watch it online?I don't know how to help you on that since I don't watch them online. :? I searched and tried a couple and there was one site that will be back in January, though I don't know if that's true...
@Cooperboy321:
I can't imagine a BSG world without "Skin-jobs" and a badass Adama. It's one of the biggest part of the plot in this series (with the current season playing the final 5 gig), so I'm guessing the series have a pretty big gap in plot...

Reviving this thread because the series just ended. Anyone else watch it? I salute Battlestar Galactica, not one episode ever let me down. Fantastic plot and great acting, so rare in a sci-fi series. Heck, just rare in general. Anyone else glad to have enjoyed the ride yet also sad to see it end?

I am particularly sad it's over. I loved this series and watched every single episode.
Good quotes from the episode.
- We must be cautios too much force and we risk killing the child.
- Really?! You think? Please continue stating the perfectly obvious it fills me with confidence.
I liked the ending even if I wasn't ok with some of the events in it.
Good show I recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi.

How about the acting in this series. I'm not a critic or anything, but I thought everyone did a fantastic job. Many characters were given a chance to shine in certain scenes and they took it and ran away with it. Adama and Roslin were my favorites. When Roslin tottered out to join in the mission in the last episode, I teared up a little =).
