My friends say they don't like being mainstream, so I said..... I think not being mainstream is starting to become mainstream so why don't we start being mainstream in order to not be mainstream?

Then again, in a sense, I'm being a hipster with my car in the car scene... but not. Going to mod a car up that nobody will have seen before (well, modded in that style at least) but, it's a civic, which every second dog has... So, eh. But, it's something unique, which I love.
tl;dr: My car is old and unique, so therefore, I'm going to mod it. Cause I like cars, and I want to jdmify my car, yo.

Oh god, what does it matter? I wear the clothes I like without caring if they are mainstream or not. I listen to music I like without caring if its mainstream. And so on.
Its so annoying when people try to be mainstream or.. anti-mainstream as if their own taste changes every time something new is "in" or "out". But seriously, rap has it oh so right. Do whatever the fuck you want. It's why I'm doing my car in the first place. Everybody (my brother and dad especially) think it's a waste of money. I don't care. I love this car, and want to make it into something that people will love, and be jealous of.
As for clothes; I wear jeans and v-necks one day, trackpants and a singlet another. just underpants another day. Booya.
Ahem, anyway. Stop trying to fit into a social group, and just be yourself. I don't see why people get all worked up over being 'before it was cool' or mainstream.

From the people I know, the whole "mainstream" crap is just an excuse to be a douche and a weirdo, I know two different people.
1) Total ass that hates ANYTHING that is famous, but once he likes something, no one else better like it. He even uttered the words "now that it's famous it's ruined!"
2) Total douche that tries so hard to be different, but fails miserably. They hate the "common way of thought", yet they post countless things on Facebook, has a pet snake and iguana (oh yeah, because NO one else has reptilian pets), has a cockroach farm... and she stated herself that she is weird to others and be different.
Both stated that they need to validate their existence by being different.
It's just people failing miserably on trying to be different but ironically, still fall in place with the rest of the crowd. The ones I met fall more in line of asshole attitude to the world that never really did anything to them.
