Arctic Monkeys. A lot of people don't really enjoy them from my area, but I personally love them. Not just my favorite brit band, but my favorite band, period.

Recoil, New Order, and Depeche Mode for electronic, and for punk and post-punk, The Clash, Sex Pistols, and Joy Division. For rock and metal, I say Led Zepplin and Iron Maiden. And for the rest, I say David Bowie.
