"Best Friend" is sometimes overrated.

I've been served the "I don't think we should have sex anymore because you're my best friend and I don't want to lose that" sentence. Touching, really, but I'm not gonna lie I loved the sex.

I'm also going to be staying over at his place next week for a few days. I should be good and respect his wishes but a small part of me wants to be a bitch and tease him a bit *fluffs boobs*.

*sigh* but honestly. I'm kind of sad/disappointed. It was really nice having that physical intimacy attached to our awesome dynamic.

My best friend is a woman. she has a bit of a sorted history, i'm not going to get into details, but it's my opinion that she very much associates sex with love. because of this, i have never gone farther than making out, which only happened when we first met. we have slept(sleeping, no more) together in the same bed many times. i love her more than anyone else in my life, including blood relatives. one day, i could see getting together with her in a more intamate way, but not right now.

funny side note, i used the 'i think we should be friends' thing to get laid. there was a girl i really liked, so i played it cool, and tried not to offend her by moving too fast. one day she said, "why have you never made a move on me?". i said, "i really enjoy hanging out with you and talking, and i didn't want to take a chance and ruin that." she then tackled me and jammed her tongue down my throat. it was a thing of beauty.

I've also slept with my female friends. I somewhat look inoffensive even when I say them that I would still fuck them if I got the chance. Some of them even go around half naked in front of me (and no, not something they would normally do).

I have 2 best friends, one's male and the other female. They are pretty different, but both very close to me in different ways. Well they dont get along well so i usually hang around with them separately (mostly with the male one since hes also my childhood friend). I never had intercourse with any of them and im not planing to. Since they are my friends they dont turn me on and i consider them as one kind of family (especially the male one).

You can never be "Just Friends" if you have ever had sex with them.

Heck, even having a strong desire to have sex with them pretty much makes it impossible to be "Just Friends"

Granted, you can have your lover be your friend, but you can't go back to just friend.

You know, the point of the ´best friend´ thing of the other gender is that you really really like them, but you just somehow don´t feel sexually attracted to them. (That´s what I think at least.)

Well I've never had sex with my bestfriend, but I did go out with him. We kind of kept it a secret, except from our closest friends. Anyway, I moved to the Philippines and the relationship kind of fizzled out. When I came back, I realized he fell in love with some other guy.

In other words, I don't think of going beyond 'just friends' with my guy friends, since it seems as though I can turn them gay. :/

i disagree. i have a friend that started out as dating, evolved to a sexual relationship, and then became just friends, but not best friends. i even have two friends that were friends to start with, got together, had a kid, and are now back to friends.

imo you may have over generalized. i think it really depends on the maturity of the people involved.

And how much they appreciate and respect one another. People can be intimate, realize that they aren't meant to be together, and still remain close friends. It just depends on the type of bond you have.

obviously, being in such a situation I agree with circe and mr. shaggnificent. And to add an interesting note, I honestly think we would not be as close of friends if we had not been intimate with each other (at least not as quickly).

In this case, being so open with each other physically (becoming comfortable with eachother's bodies, quirks, and fetishes) allowed us to open up to each other about all aspects of our lives. Something we're both normally reticent on.

In short, I agree we cannot go back to the friendship we once had; I think our friendship now is better.

My first time having sex was with my best friend. I remember it was like we were just friends and I had gotten over any romantic feelings I had for him long ago. Then - to make a long story short - one night it was just a really intimate atmosphere after talking about nothing and everything between. So we did the deed and I'm still with him today.
