Boycotting relationships
0
For a long time now, I've hated romantic relationships. I personally never want to be in one ever again.
Though recently I have found out that all that waste of emotion and time is similar to that in friendships. I'm thinking about boycotting those too, it all just gets in my way. I had to move to a different town recently, and I have spent the entire time doing nothing but eating and crying. It's all too familiar and I hate it.
Does anyone else boycott relationships of any kind?

Nope.
For that matter, have you considered talking to a professional about your issues?

lol this ^
edit: that's also just awkwardly phrased. Usually people boycott things in protest or to try and gain something. Here it just seems like you want to abstain from relationships
double edit (man I suck): Also, if you are trying to avoid relationships, why did you make this thread? Even if someone agrees with you, you won't want to be their friend. Or are you making this thread because if someone shares this sentiment, you'll feel more okay with the idea in abstaining from friendships because you're not the only one, and therefore it's less weird?
Well it is weird. Having no relationships goes against human nature.

Yeah, I figured boycotting would be an incorrect word for this situation.

I've never boycotted a relationship, but I have boycotted friendships before, while I was in recovering from drugs, I stopped talking to just about everyone, because no one had faith in me coming out clean or ever succeeding in life. Now though, I have friendships with people that actually mean something, people that actually believe in me, just because things went sour somewhere down the line, doesn't mean you should punish yourself to not having any contact or relationships.
There are probably many people out there who would love to spend time with you and be friends or more, than you may not be giving that chance to, therefor taking the chances of having a nice friendly relationship with someone who may grow to be good friends with, away.

I think you should see a professional about this. It sounds like you have some major emotional baggage, and im not sure random strangers online can really help you with it.

1. Be more open and honest with the people you choose to be emotionally intimate with. Have everyone start at 0 - neither trust, nor fear.
2. See a psychiatrist and therapist in conjunction.
