They defend their stance thoughWith nonsequiturs, maybe. It's also not exactly commendable to defend your position when you're wrong.

Not once did I say anything about commendable behavior or a strong grasp of debate, however an argument with someone who has relinquished reason is a fantastic challenge. I frequently go out if my way to engage members of the priesthood in active debate. None of those which I have engaged in debate are rational, logical or too knowledgeable about anything outside of their specific area of comfort. That's what creates the challenge for me. Debating things like the Abrahamic God, messianic faith, the false dichotomy of chance vs. design with an ordinary individual is too easy, if they're logical, ethical or rational they grasp my points without issue, but those with the binders of faith are far more difficult. You MUST stay within the topicality of their argument and point out within the context of their positive assertions the fundamental flaws of their claims without expository information. The drawing pool for discussion is severely limited. It's the handicap that makes it fun.

something something about the challenge of proving brick walls wrongGo argue with LustfulAngel. There is a 0% chance you will get him to realize he is wrong.

Meh, to each their own (I'm referring to myself), at least he isn't a Jesuit. Anyway, I don't intend on seeming like them so I'll simply say that I subjectively enjoy it though I concede to your objective point and I understand what I interpret as a challenge most see as pure annoyance, in fact I think my enjoyment may itself be in error, but that's not really much of a concern of mine really. It may very well be when my patience inevitably wears out, but for them moment grant me the liberty to attempt intelligible debate with the walls, if I get in the way of other business as soon as I'm aware I'll cease.
All of that being said please know that although you and I may disagree (and I reserve the right to concede totally once proven wrong, which I actually anticipate) I never want to leave a discussion on terms which I imagine are less than amicable. I thank you for your replies and prospective, perhaps one day we'll discuss something of grater relevance or importance, until then I would like to say adieu.
