Can The Boondocks b Considered an Anime?

he Boondocks has always had an anime style to it but in the 2nd season the same studio that did trigun began working on the art for The Boondocks technically giving the show anime status(at least in my opinoin), despite its episodic storlines,& if u dnt know wut The Boondocks r, c the summary below.
The Boondocks is an American animated series created by Aaron McGruder for the Adult Swim programming block of Turner Broadcasting's Cartoon Network, based upon McGruder's comic strip of the same name. The Boondocks is a social satire of American culture and race relations, revolving around the lives of the Freeman family – ten-year-old Huey, his younger brother, eight-year-old Riley, and their grandfather, Robert. The series is produced by Rebel Base in association with Sony Pictures Television and is currently airing its second season on Adult Swim.
The Boondocks takes place in the same place and time frame as its comic counterpart. The Freeman family, having recently transplanted themselves from the South Side of Chicago to the peaceful, fictional suburb of Woodcrest, find different ways to cope with this acute change in setting as well as the drastically different suburban cultures and lifestyles to which they are exposed. The perspective offered by this mixture of cultures, lifestyles, and races provides for much of the comedy on which the series plays

I say it's half and half for me. Great show, because of the fights and jokes. Stinkmeaner is funny as hell.

Dude that show is teh shit. Even tho it has the funniest racial slurs and stereotypes. I laughed my ass off on my of them, "The black man's worst enemies are racists and a job application form." It was said by a black priest too lol.

Uncle Ruckus is the best. The best episode of the entire series was probably when stinkmeaner comes back from hell and poses Mr. Dubea *can't spell it*.

Half of it reminds me of samurai champloo, that being Huey's side.
And the other half reminds me of BET.
Either way, its enjoyable.

probably, not sure what the difference is between anime and cartoon, i think cartoon is more generalized though, so it should be categorized as more of a cartoon than anime

Anime, technically and formally, is animation made in Japan. Anime News Network and some other places use this definition of anime. I follow this definition, thus I think that The Boondocks is not Anime.

No, I don't consider it anime. It's pseudo-anime. It's created with the anime style, like Avatar, but it has none of the cultural 'trappings' nor the command of the art style that the Japanese/Koreans have.

If you notice uncle ruckus has many jobs. He's been a priest and a movie usher. Is their nothing that man can't do besides the fact that he'll never be nice to his own race.

Something historical I presume?

Well, I really don't like racial slurs to begin with. In a joking context, they're funny--The Boondocks, for example. Otherwise, however, I find that it's completely uncalled for and highly immature.

The Boondocks is funny as hell! Stinkmeiner was AWESOME and that episode with the little white girl owned Riley at basketball had me in tears! But I've never cared when people throw the N word at me I hear it so much I don't hear it.

Well if we're going to go into the whole matter of racism and shit, although I'm not what one would consider a good Jew, I was born Jewish and I respect my heritage. Members of my family were victims of the Holocaust and blah, blah, blah, the typical Jewish account of our terrible persecution throughout history. However, I'll be the first person to make jokes about penny pinching, being firewood, or any other anti-Semetic reference one can think of. I'm also German, which being a German Jew I recognize the natural humor , and a lot of other things. The way I see it is that if you have the blood in you, you can rip on it all you want. It might be considered mean-spirited, but there's a saying that goes, "if you can't make fun of yourself, who can you make fun of?"
