EDIT!!: Who was your favourite character in this movie? Mine was the Gypsy guy. :D

Yeah, I heard from Empire and Metacritic that it's meant to be pretty fucking bad. But then I love the original and that was technically a very bad film that just somehow had some magic to it. I guess this doesn't have that magic?

It's hilariously camp and feels like a bit of a mess overall. I love it to bits, but because it meant so much to me as a kid, not because it's in any way even remotely good.
Need basic knowledge of Greek Mythology before seeing to movie to actually enjoy the movie. This is pretty sad.
What... the fuck? That's like saying that Saving Private Ryan is bad because oyu need basic knowledge of World War II. I mean, why are these guys shooting each other and what is a Private, etc...
Also, who hasn't heard of Medusa, the Kraken, Zeus, Hades etc? Seriously, your comment has depressed me and I'm going to go and drink some oven cleaner.

You're so ignorant. Just because you know it doesn't mean everybody knows it.
Some people, like my friends, had little or no knowledge of Greek Mythology. They had no idea Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades were brothers, the three witches with one eye, etc etc. Why do you try to sound like you know everything about what people know and what people don't know?

I was about to say "I am not the ignorant one. Your friends are. You illustrate this perfectly with your own point" but then I realised that we do seem to have our wires crossed a little.
I don't mean that everyone should know everything about Greek mythology but rather that everyone should know enough to appreciate the film. If Zeus, Poseidon and Hades being brothers is relevant to the plot, I'm sure that'd get related in the film and lack of foreknowledge of the fact wouldn't stop people from understanding/enjoying it. So to go back to my Saving Private Ryan analogy, you can assume that everyone knows about World War II but not necessarily that they were previously aware of the Omaha beachhead assault. The film will "educate" them about Omaha but it won't explain "Well once there was a very naughty man called Adolf Hiter..."

i think that's part of why i like it too. even with the hokey effects, it was still pretty awesome. i remember watching it on KICU 36, or maybe KOFY 20(they both had the best movies), back in the early 80's. even bad movies can seem good in the innocence of childhood.

i watched it last friday and you know what its a bit disappointing. Hades dies too easily, trailer better than movie.
But on top of that there is some comedy - well thats the best part

I liked the movie. It could have been better, but thats not saying much because almost every movie could be better. I just think they ended it to quickly.

well the only cool 3D parts were when stuff was being tossed around. When there was a fight, it looked confusing
