Also, I find quite absurd the fact that a company (not even a real person) can own your "body" and you might be eventually be force to pay for... just help? Let alone the science branch of the topic. Seriously I hope this topic gets more attention and goes in the direction of making information public, but I have feeling it won't.

I think anything that is to benefit mankind in general should be public domain. I mean nobody argues that chemotherapy should be a privately owned method right? Or am i just not cynical enough?

When people like Jonas Salk invent vaccines all they have in mind is that they are helping mankind. The world needs more people like that.

I don't know much about science, so I might be missing something, but it sounds to me like gene research should be public domain.

I think anything that has to do with your own body should be public.
I don't think you should be allowed to patent genes and stuff like that, it's ridiculous and it's only done for the money.
