this is the inside of my computer does anybody know what the thing above the fan is the metal one thats shiny
also the 4 sticks to the right of the fan i think they are ddr but im not shue does anybody know?

The thing above the fan thats metal is a heatsink for your northbridge.
As for the RAM, besides taking one out and looking at the sticker on it a program called CPU-Z can tell you what it is.

OP we can only guess at what the specs of your computer is.
The RAM looks like it's old school DDR1, under that big heatsink is probably a Pentium D, and that small heatsink is the northbridge.
Care to tell us what the model of the unit is? Also what exactly is wrong with your computer?
