Cook a nice steak?
0
I apologize if there is already a topic like this.
My cousin(s) asked me to cook some steak(beef, chicken, etc) for dinner, but i absolutely had no idea how to cook one.
question: "How do you cook a simple yet somehow elaborate steak?" add delicious in that aswell.

Steak usually means beef. Get a nice cut, salt and pepper. Grill it.
Make a light fist, poke the flesh between your knuckle and beginning of your thumb. That's what you want your steak to feel like.

Everything Tsujoi said, please buy your steak from a butcher and not a supermarket (if you're going to pay for steak pay for quality)
Also don't forget to use vegetable oil on a rag and grease the grill, and you can also add a little to the steak (just a little to help get grill marks). Place the steak on a 45 degree angle for 1 to 3 minutes, rotate another 45 degrees to create a perfect cross hatch (not necessary but it looks nice).

Alright, so that's how to cook steak, pretty simple i guess, but can i do the same for meat other than beef?

Okay, I will answer both questions, yeah you can cook meats this way, just don't make sure you cook it all the way, believe me a medium rare steak will taste a lot better than a medium rare chicken breast.
As for seasoning, that is something you have to chose for yourself, we don't have your taste buds nor do we know your palate. Salt and pepper are the most common of spices and they work great for meats. Just use cracked black pepper instead of the one that is already powdered.

I see, i also thought i was easier to cook beefsteak than chickensteak, and here i put to cook them all the way. Any seasoning will do the job right?
Also, what's the difference between sirloin steak and tenderloin steak(whatever they're called)?

The difference between a sirloin and tenderloin is the area it's cut from how tender it is. Tenderloin is a more tender cut of beef though.

i thought the difference was their taste, but i am wrong. I saw a picture of them and there seem to be a sauce of some sort, do you need sauce in steak?

No you don't need steak sauce, in fact a good steak doesn't need sauce at all (doesn't mean you shouldn't try it though). Also yeah the cuts can have subtle differences in taste due to marbling(fat running through muscle) and also can be affected by aging the meat. But flavor is also affected by means of cooking and means of seasoning more.
If you wish to age your beef here is how.

So you don't just stuff your meat inside the freezer, then this mean i gotta rearrange my freezer aswell. Darn i learn a lot from one thread, it's a good change of pace too. At first i thought the video's gonna make sushi! And now on to meats, how about fish meat? ever tried fish steak?

Also don't take everything out of the freezer, not sure where you got that from, because neither I nor the video said that. You should only cure when you know you have it in the near future. Freezing is way better for storage.
I have cooked fish steaks before and it's easy. It's the same exact process as any other meat, except you really have to make sure the grill is clean (nothing on the grates) and well greased.

That's from the way i just stuffed any natural food into the freezer, sorry for the confusion. Fish are the same, huh? but any kind of fish will do right? also speaking of clean grill, mine's not been used for awhile.

It's better to grill a fish when it is wrapped in foil to avoid some part of the fish to stick to the grill.

I salt wash the grill. Also cast iron grates and grape wood or chips if I'm using the gas.
