Cooking done wrong.

I'm no professional chef, but I'm pretty sure that if you fry something in a pan, if it leaves large gooey bubbles on the surface when you're done, you're doing something wrong.
Parents should know better. Being older and wiser and all, that is.
Anyway, I have a question for you all. Is it really that logical to fry eggs on high heat? My dad seems to think so.

It sounds like the heat is so high that the teflon on the pan is actually melting off the pan.
Also, the best way to cook an over easy egg is on a low heat with butter in the pan.

depends how you like you eggs but shouldn't go higher than medium heat, unless you are doing on heat/off heat where you stir your eggs on the heat, then off the heat and such.
but just a regular fried egg, just as steven h. said, but I use a bit of oil instead of butter.

How I usually do my eggs is medium with just a bit of butter in the pan for extra flavor and smack a lid down to contain the heat. You can't walk away, but you end up with almost perfect eggs without having to sweat the flip so much. Especially good if you like a runny center to the yolk.

*Cringes* No-no-no-nooo~
Frying eggs on high heat will just burn the bottoms and not thoroughly cook the egg. You should almost always cook on medium heat~
