Craigslist: useful?
Would you trust a craistlist post?

Ever used/browsed the plethora of listings that is Craigslist? I need a summer job and thought I'd give it a look... worth a try! Job listings, community postings, lost and found, free stuff and garage sales abound! :D
There are some good, legit postings in the job section of course. Wander to the gigs or ETC section and some stuff gets... well, kinky, creepy or questionable. It's tough to figure out which posts are legitimately offering what they say they are, or if they'll turn out to be a complete trap/dupe.
Would you trust a stranger offering money for stuff? I need the cash (as a poor college student, I'm seeking a legit job or "reasonably" odd request) but, but being a somewhat-weak female I'm a bit wary of taking up any of the offers. o_o; I mean, I can cater to interests but only so far...
What to do?! Anyone have any pointers/good or bad experiences?

I've never used Craigslist before, but judging by its popularity, I'd gander that it at least has some legitimacy.

Craigslist is like the classifieds in your local newspaper, except on the internet. Also, if you run into that posting problem, you could, you know, try to type something a little bit more, or even interesting, rather than copy paste the error message.

Kind of Important
A ray of Tsunlight.
I have looked up local stuff sure.
There are some great deals on there. And some (Not all) of the people are honestly trying to sell whatever it is.
Pretty useful if you ask me. As long as you're careful about it.

Never had actual experience with it myself since CL is pretty dead around here, but I heard some rather not so nice stories about it lol.
But mainly from musicians. Like, total jerkwads looking for bands and gear dealers that are real shady and stuff.

I've bought my share of items of off CL: phones, games, cars....some people and fine others are trying to rip you off or scam you...just be 2 steps ahead and know what you are looking at buying before deciding anything. its a good resource though

My parents picked up a free hot tub on Craigslist. Its 12' x 14' and I honestly cant remember how many people it seats (10 or 12?)
Because of that, I do scroll through some posts every once in awhile just to see if I can find a deal or something like that.

well, some sources are believed to be so-so. just take an extreme precaution before doing anything

I might use craigslist to find a summer job or temp work, however probably not a permanent one. Just be cautious and don't do anything stupid and you should be fine.

Much like Nessie, no person has ever seen used CraigsList, but EVERYONE and their grandmother got a pal who has seen used it!
And so do I! I know a guy who buys mining equipment and old movie cameras by the shitton! He swears by CL, provided that you buy locally and inspect the goods, in person, previous to making a purchase. Can't overstate the impoertance of that.
PS: Why, I never!
