So, how many of you have tried to make their own custom model kit parts?
I've been trying to find a way to make my own parts, do any of you have any good hints as to how to do this?

Well it's a long process but using/molding with epoxy putty for parts often works, usually it's used in small scale models but when used with resin its strong enough to be used as a individual piece/part.

I'm by no means an expert, but if you're like me and have broken an obsene amount of kits and find yourself with a sea of spare parts, you could use your imagination to put them to use. For example, you could take the shoulder armor and wing from one of the 1/100 Arios's shoulders to make a fairly convincing tail binder. Of course, I'm making it sound a lot less complicated. This method takes a lot of patience and creativity, but can be quite easier than using putty and pla-plate.

for me who have broken almost all of his gunpla. i take some putty and pla-plates, like 0.3 mms thick, just to repair those parts, or if i do have the money, i just tend to use putty and try to reshape the parts and then add some aftermarket parts.
