Having just finished watching the pilot for this TV show, I thought it was a well written and had impressive special effects and CG visuals. My question is this: Can the Syfy network keep up with the standards they have set up with the pilot. I find it hard to see the network of hokey B-grade monster movies being able to sustain the level of quality displayed by their first episode.
I have not played the video game tie-in, but I would enjoy hearing if it ties in well with the main storyline of this show.

Special effects are piss poor, story is average, characters are bland...ugh. Only watched it cause it covered up Lost Girl.

Okay, so timewise....I think this takes place shortly after Nolan and his adopted daughter
I might be mistaken as I haven't gotten that far in the game, but it looks about right.
CG is decent for a TV show, especially with how much there is. Actings not bad either. Characters themselves are meh, at least right now.
fyi, the game takes place on the west coast.

I have not seen it, though Face-off did have an episode where they had to create crossbreed aliens. I found the makeup work impressive but generic so Ihave no interest in the show.

Second episode aired.
Nothing really interesting happening yet. I wonder if we'll get a bath scene every episode though, lol.

I have to agree with you. Considering the four months+ of hype, I expected more from this show. I think the series had better come up with more in order to keep my interest.
Considering the apparently large number of alien races now living on earth, we only seem to be learning about the humans and the white-skinned ones. Plus, we learned almost nothing new about the supposed main characters in this last episode.
I begin to fear another one-season Syfy channel wonder.
