For the most part yes. I'm hyper as fuck and a total jerk, so dating someone like that would be obnoxious. I'm also really laid back so finding someone who can balance all of this out would be awesome.

I do believe opposites attract, meaning there should be some aspects that is of two people, in a relationship, which very different.
But attitude wise I think I prefer a girl very much like me.

I'm usually depressed most of the time, and I like this girl who is extremely energetic and seems to be happy a lot... =\

For me its quite true. I like talking and sleeping a lot. Being lazy. The girl i like is quiet and always does what shes suppose to.
Oh and when i say i like sleeping, it doesnt mean i get a lot of sleep. Dont have time for it anymore.

Well, I do like boys who are not shy like me, so maybe.
But I want to be able to share some interests too.

Yes, opposites due attract. It can have wild swings in the relationship area and most it takes two to share these problems.
I hated antiquing, I was at her side. She hated physical sports, she watched my games.
Lasted close to nine mons; she was transferred to Florida. Our birthdays and Christmas, we still exchange gifts.
I really hate hot humid weather.

Well I find myself attracted to people who are nothing like me most of the time, but they don't end up feeling the same way, so next time I'm gonna see how things work out when I like someone similar to myself :P

Do they attract? Yes, but most of the time statistics say that opposites do not attract. You are more likely to be comfortable with the people who share most of your interests and niches, it's rare to find someone who's exactly like you but the more they are, the better the chances that you'll hook up with that person. I'm not saying that they're better suited than opposite couplings but you'll find that more married couples around the world are more similar to each other.

It's a myth, an empty phrase milled over and over by loquacious dimwits.
When it comes to personality, birds of a feather flock together.

Attraction is easy and it can happen with anyone and everyone. The hard bit is staying together and creating a relationship.

Off topic but you're just one post from hitting the 4-digit post count.
And yes, only those with similar traits will be the ones who will most likely have the longest relationships.

I think they do attract, but certain things prevent opposites from being together in most situations.
1. Their friends. A lot of times in High School when a girl who didnt belong to the same crowd as me went out with me, her friends all hated me...
2. The fear of judgement by parents, other people, and friends.
3. Pride. A lot of times people think theyre better than those who are different from them. Ive seen this personally before too.
4. Its kinda awkward. I mean, if you're truly opposites, then you wont really have much to talk about. And without anything to talk about, a relationship will go nowhere.
Those are just a few reasons that "opposites" relationships rarely work out.

I think they attract sometimes. But sometimes it's better to have someone who is similar to you, in certain circumstances.
I think a person who is the opposite of me would be nice, someone who has different habits and does different things than me is interesting.

To a certain degree I think they do.
One thing that keeps bugging me is that people tend to think that because people are opposites they don't have anything in comment. This depends on to what level we take it to. People can be opposites in personality but still have the exact same preferences about lots of stuff.
I believe that people are attracted to persons that have a somewhat opposite personality, but somewhat similar tastes. Because as it has been stated, if they were truly opposites in taste, they wouldn't have much to talk about right?
