Do you by anime figures even though they are so expensive?

I agree, though I think part of the expense is the limited supply, since these are collectibles. (Sometimes figures get 're-runs' for lower prices, but it doesn't seem to happen often)

As to the question...yeah, I first started by buying Figmas, since in general, they're a good balance in quality and price. I also liked pose-ability, like with my gunpla, so that influenced my initial collecting. (mainly figmas and Revoltech)

But I also started to buy scale figures, especially if they're high quality figures of characters I wanted. (e.g. 1/7 Megurine Luka Tony ver.)

i agree that price is very problematic plus the shipping cost too.
i only collect for all my waifu figure even though she always kill my wallet
and the worst is the import tax in my country

i own small collection of figures i collect mostly nendos thats around 30 -45$

small nendos are cheap the price goes from 7 - 10$

well i own 1-2 figures that cost 100 - 200$ dolars though buying figures its for only self satifaction :p

I've never been the type of person to get things like figurines, I would much rather buy computer parts, gadgets, or weapons with the money. Honestly, nobody would even know that I watch anime based on my physical possessions, all of that stuff is on my comp

Just wait till you own all computer parts and weapons that you want, then you will think about figures, unless you want something else ofc. Shopping is about priorities.

Well considering computers are always getting better, faster, etc, and at a pretty rapid pace, I don't think that will ever happen. It's possible I would eventually buy some, but I don't think that will be any time soon

The most I've spent on a figure was $305.59. The figure was relatively old and it was expensive to ship out EMS due to weighth.

Other than that, I think $150 range is about as much as I spend regularly. I frankly haven't bought a figure in a while and as broke as I am I moved my interest to dakimakura covers (also expensive).

People can't shop for shit. Oh the yuno figure with blood spatter and blade came out... Oh 150$ ME BUY. vs I just bought it for 50 on ebay or amazon from the shop.

Case in point i just got 7 figures for under 200$ including one that pre ordered for 130 for 50 plus shipping from NY. NOW ON MY IWAI... i should of preordered earlier. T_T_TT_T_T_T_T_T_T_T_T_T

Hm... Well yeah, sometimes i buy expensive anime figures. I live in Indonesia, & my most expensive figure is Busou Shinki Strarf mk.2 (not Lavina or the full armament version, btw). It cost me 1.000.000 IDR (for me, US$ 100 is already expensive). My second expensive figure is Misaka sister Figma (750.000 IDR / US$75).

But the record will be set with a 3rd party Transformers figure, which cost me around US$150 (or around 1.500.000 IDR).

So yeah, i'll buy an expensive figure. IF it's good for my taste.

I have about 9 figures myself and agree that they can be abit pricey but it's a hobby like anything else moderation and having a job that can support it is key.
