..Festivus anyone?

It's okay I guess.
It'd be much better if I could celebrate it with babes in sexy santa suits.

I personally don't care for holidays at all anymore. My past made sure of that. Family equates to bucket of lies for me. But I'm still partially dependant so I have to go along with it if I hope to keep my jobs.

I love the snow... Snow is what makes Christmas, Christmas. And Jeebus, but mostly PRESENTS!

Sadly, when your parents tell you that Santa doesn't exist, Christmas up just isn't the same.

I believe Santa is either a mutant monster or has diabetes and cancer.
I have very little holiday cheer.
I don't think I'm a terrible person but, I have to ask why does holiday cheer only happen at this time of year? What about the rest of the year?

I love Christmas, but I am.beginning to feel I am losing that holiday cheer. It used to fun with family but now it feels kinda meh. If I could spend it with a girl maybe (also wearing sexy santa outfit) I could find my holiday cheer.

I believe in a Festivus for the Rest of Us!

I don't hate the holiday cheer, I just find it extremely aggravating. Just hearing Christmas music in stores and such make me want to shoot myself in the head.
Also, I can never seem to understand why parents just love to lie to their children.

I have a strange love/hate relationship with Christmas.

I love how the world comes alive with lights, music and just general activity. Sometimes I liked being in the mall during Christmas as a kid just to take in the atmosphere of the busy bodies and festive activities. Of course there's always the portent of getting free stuff.

But, over the years I've come to despise what the holiday has become. Most people complain about Christmas being a time of year were people act like assholes, but that's not normally in the company I keep. More often, I don't like how commercialized the whole thing is-it's always more about getting you to buy shit rather than show a gesture of love and good will.

And it's also the time of year where religious nuts are in your ear about putting Christ back in Christmas, even though he never belonged there in the first place.

Oh, and most of the Christmas music sucks anyway and they never make anything new. Come on people, it's not that friggin' hard!

Just cuz santa doesn't exist doesn't mean you shouldn't still celebrate christmas :/

I think its the best time cause I can spend it with friends and family. Plus there is only a couple of things you can do during XXXmas that you can't do the rest of the year <3

I celebrate, it's just I get sick of my workplace and all the malls playing nonstop Christmas music, It's ok once or twice, but for hours on end it really gets annoying

I have to say this is always a hard time of year for me, because I have to see my family alot, and I'm really uncomfortable around more than a few people at once, so the house being full kinda sucks. Not that I dislike my family, most of them, but its not as if I love them. If we could work it out to where everyone didn't come over at once it would be better. Not as if I'm a christian but I hate "Happy Holidays" nut up people, its Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

ponyrein I am not I as appear
As a kid I used to. Family would go to downtown Los Angeles and look at all the animated displays in the stores. Most of those stores are gone sadly and the displays are now very commercial.

Did the same when the kids were small but they sort of lost interest So we pretty much gave it up.

Christmas today. Starts about 2 or 3 weeks before Thanksgiving if you look at the stores.

Now I just send friends and family a card and If I am lucky the boys call. Usually if I try to call they are off doing something.

I think Tom Lehrer summed Christmas today best

Christmas time is here, by golly,
Disapproval would be folly,
Deck the halls with hunks of holly,
Fill the cup and don't say "when."
Kill the turkeys, ducks and chickens,
Mix the punch, drag out the Dickens,
Even though the prospect sickens,
Brother, here we go again.

On Christmas Day you can't get sore,
Your fellow man you must adore,
There's time to rob him all the more
The other three hundred and sixty-four.

Relations, sparing no expense'll
Send some useless old utensil,
Or a matching pen and pencil.
"Just the thing I need! How nice!"
It doesn't matter how sincere it
Is, nor how heartfelt the spirit,
Sentiment will not endear it,
What's important is the price.

Hark the Herald Tribune sings,
Advertising wondrous things.
God rest ye merry, merchants,
May you make the Yuletide pay.
Angels we have heard on high
Tell us to go out and buy!

So let the raucous sleigh bells jingle,
Hail our dear old friend Kris Kringle,
Driving his reindeer across the sky.
Don't stand underneath when they fly by

"Santa Claus is a drug and alcohol induced figment of the Easter Bunny's imagination"

Bah Humbug

I grew up outside the Christian faith, so Christmas was always just "the one religious holiday that was respected by enough people to get vacation without needing an excused absence" in the year. Now, it's a hindrance and a burden since I have to plan around other people's plans. As much as I enjoy festive spirit, I'd appreciate it more if it wasn't as hyped as it is in the US (an example being the Christmas-ey feeling on fakku now which turns me off).

You're right, parents not wanting to celebrate it shouldn't have stopped me either. :/
