Do you know how to draw?
Do you know how to draw?

I used to always joke the reason why I became a writer was because I couldn't draw for the life of me.

I can't draw people... well, at least not faces.
I also can't colour.
Whenever I draw something even remotely decent and colour it, I end up making it look like vomit.
I'm decent at drawing things other than faces, but not good.

I'm decent while drawing. Only... I'm decent when drawing landscapes. People and objects, on the other hand... I can't draw them for shit.

I'm good at drawing but, need more practice. Every time I go DeviantArt I get so motivated when I see some one who can draw better than me. I tell myself, "One day I'll be that good."

I voted for Yes, I'm decent at it.
Reason being is because many years ago, while I was watching my mom playing in a bowling league (5 pin bowling to be exact), I felt bored and decided to draw something. At the time I was thinking about what should I try drawing. So I pulled out my Ipod video (5th generation), scrolled through the images that I had (varying from anime to games and random stuff) and said to myself "maybe I will try drawing her":

Once finished, I was actually impressed and really wanted to keep it. All of the sudden, another person (forgot who it was, might have been a girl) took notice of my drawing and was also impressed by the end results.
When the game that my mom was playing has ended, I had to hand in the paper that I used to draw the girl because it was the same sheet that was needed to write down the bowling scores at the end of each session. Sure I may have been depressed because I was unable to keep the drawing, but at least I felt happy, knowing that:
a) I was able to finish the drawing; and
b) someone actually acknowledged my work despite not taking any art classes whatsoever.
For those whom think that I probably just traced the character, remember that I was using the image on an Ipod Video, which was a 2.5" 320x240 QVGA screen.
Basically what I am trying to say, regardless of whether you have talent or not, if you enjoy drawing, then by all means draw something. It does not matter what you draw, as long as you feel happy about what you have drawn. Even if it is only stick figures that you can draw. Sure people may criticize you and say that your drawing skills are horrible, but at least you attempted to express yourself (if that makes sense to anyone here on Fakku).

Nope, i suck at artistic drawing.
The only things i am good at drawing (and by good i mean pro level) is stuff like house and deck plans, because my grandfather was a pro at this stuff and taught me since early childhood.

I've been a chronic doodler since my freshman year of high school and I want to get better, but right now I'm too busy with classes, work, and other things to really devote time to it.

I cant't really draw detailed sketches or anything like that but i'm great at doodling when I have the time for it.

if i could draw a tenth of what i can imagine i would be very happy to draw a lot. as is i only draw sometimes.

depends on what i'm drawing.... i'd like to think i'm pretty good with my eyes... http://puu.sh/2o9kI

I'm pretty good at drawing with my right-hand, not so much with the left. Maybe I should revisit the basics 'switch-hitting' as it were and become ambidextrous?

Well, I really love art, and it's my dream to become an artist. I want to make my own comics, cartoons, work on some realism, paint, pretty much anything 2D. My 3D art is horrendous, aside from using metals; making chains, soldering, sawing, bolting plexiglass onto pieces, etc. I've taken a plethora of art classes, but I'm not always that confident. I feel like there are always a few people in there who do so much better than me, that maybe I should just give up. ;;
Anyway, the problem I have is that, like I said, I want to make comics, but any art class I've taken makes me draw/paint strictly realism, so it's hard to develop my own style. . . ;;

Both Zombiecat and Exli are amazing e.e
WAI I WANNA ABLE TO DRAW DAT WAY IS OSOM
No, srsly. Well, I managed to be able to draw decently some pencil n paper ones, though the result isn't always what I wish... I can't stick to the techniques, though. I'm more like draw from the idea but trying to apply the techs, because when I start with the techniques first, everything gets messed up. I'm better at digital painting, tho.

I don't even know how to start this subject, that's how big a role art has in my life. I just recently started painting, which is even more fun than just drawing. Or well, it depends. But yeah, I decided a long time ago that when I turn 18 I'd be good at drawing. Here I am 19 years old and I couldn't be happier that I made that choice.
