Do you prefer girly-girls or tomboys?

My first thought was 'girly-girl,' but a good dose of the latter is also preferable. Things like constant makeup, high heels, etc are a turn-off. Skirts and lowcut tops are all well and good, but jeans and a tshirt are more all-occasion.
So, let's say, 'girly, but practical.' Feminine, but able to break into a sprint or hop some hedges if the situation call for it.

Well I prefer the combination. I like tomboys because we can get along very quickly and have fun together. But sometimes I want my girl becomes girly, wearing pretty & cute clothes and makes me realize that I'm lucky to be her BF.
Well that's from my previous experience. And I hope I can find that type again.

I actually prefer the cute tomboy. Not the type that have a pretty face, but spit, fart, and act like actual boys. No, no. Those along the line that aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, or break a nail, but still have that girlishness to them.

In terms of appearance both are fine, but stereotypical characteristics of a 'girly girl' are somewhat annoying to me. A high dose of girliness unfortunately often comes with a high mainteinance level: putting on make up and doing hair not only takes time, but both apparently need constant checking and rearraging. It never ceases to amaze me when you are discussing with someone and suddeny they pull out a mirror and start doing their thing like you didn't even exist.
However, more often than not the people who dress very girly are used to doing it and can pull it off well without extra hassle. Now that's attractive.
Coclusion: girly girls are all cool as long as they are not trying too hard, but of these two options I prefer tomboy. The 'girl next door' is win, though.

I'm somewhere in the middle, leaning towards tomboyish. too girly is annoying, but too butch is not sexualy apealing.
last couple women i been with were athletic, but still pretty feminine. one was a surfer, and the other played volleyball.

Irrelevant, if I find her attractive and she meets my standards....everything else goes out the window regardless.

Does it really matter? Both have their stereotypical ups and downs, I mean tomboys are great to have fun with and joke around with, play games and hang out with, but men usually tend to see them traditionally more as a "Friend" Rather than a female, Now I know there are exceptions to this, then again, the down side with the “Friends” is if the tomboy does fall in love with you, normally men don’t realise it, Sadly, Whereas with the Girly girls, You tend to be enticed to think of them as “Women” And usually they are more sexually appealing because Men don’t hang around them, again I know there is exceptions, But personally I think, If they suit you, They have common interests and you do have feelings towards them, why not go for them, I mean who cares if they apply More make-up to look better or Hit you to display friendliness, Aslong as they suit ya, Why not go for both? Ai?

Tomboys, hands down. I want my girl to be a total bro.
Although, when thinking about it, I guess that most of my girlfriends have been pretty girly.

hhhmmm I think a combination of both? well I'm not a guy but usually I think appearance first (so the girly type? as a attraction) then when they get to know them they find that the girl maybe have a tomboyish personality in them? so personality last?

They're not really tomboys.

I prefer tomboys. Greatly. I hate girly pink stuff, and I think it's quite stupid of someone to be blowing countless dollars on overpriced Prada junk.
That said, you can be a "girly" girl without being a bimbo. But I still have to say I'd prefer a tomboy. Maybe it's because I'm more submissive, but I guess it's also because it's easier to talk to tomboys.
They also tend to stand out more compared to other girls because they dress differently, so that kind of adds a bit to their attractiveness.
But I guess these days are that alpha women are better for relationships in general. This does not necessarily mean anything sexual, but instead it refers to a girl who can make something out of herself instead of being dependent on you as a "trophy" girlfriend. It's a lot more attractive for a woman to be able to support themselves before you support her. As a man, I don't want to dedicate my life to someone who contributes nothing to society than being a housewife.
Although tomboy does not necessarily equal alpha female either, they just tend to take more initiative. But if we're talking looks, they're definitely hotter because they stand out more than the 10,000 other girls wearing skirts and makeup.
As my own personal pet-peeve, I hate when girls wear a lot of makeup because then you can't kiss her without getting it all over you. Lipstick is especially an annoyance in these regards.[/h]

Half and half.
I don't want a girl who's more masculine than I am, but I would like her to relate to me in some way by being on the same wavelength as me, and but I also would her to still be somewhat "girly" while not overdoing it. I mean come on, I would hate to have a girlfriend who splashes on shoes she'll never wear.
